NatureBox July 2018 Review
Aged Cheddar Lentil Loops, 3 oz. - Buy a 2-pack for $7.99/Member Price $6.49
I love lentils as a food, so I expected a lentil-themed snack would be up my alley. I was right! These loops are light and crunchy, and such a fun shape. As with most snacks that market themselves as being some sort of veggie-based puff, these do include potato starch as their second ingredient, but some potato and some lentil is better than all potato in my book! The cheddar dusting is light in both flavor and finger residue. 🙂 I would be happy to receive this snack again in a future NatureBox!
White Cheddar Caramel Popcorn, 3.05 oz. - Buy a 2-pack for $7.99/Member Price $6.49
This is a repeat snack from last month, and I couldn't be happier. There's just something about the combo of caramel corn and lightly cheddar-ized popcorn that hits the spot. This isn't one to just gobble mindlessly—you'll want to make sure you get a few pieces of each flavor in every bite.
Sweet Potato Jalapeno Tortilla Chips, 5 oz. – Retail Value $4.99/Member Price $3.99
My husband and I make guacamole several times per week, often eating it with our eggs in the morning or on top of loaded yams for dinner. This time around we went a more classic route, dipping these yummy chips in for a snack. There are a few different flavors at play here, but they're all subtle: the sweetness of the sweet potato, the faint jalapeno kick, and the saltiness. The chips were mostly broken by the time they got to me, but the pieces weren't so small that they couldn't be dipped. Overall, a good snack!
Big Island Pineapple, 4.5 oz. - Buy a 2-pack for $11.99/Member Price $8.49
I've received dried pineapple rings in every NatureBox to date (which is 3 including this one). I can see how some people might love them for a summertime snack, but being that I'm not a huge dried fruit lover, I'm ready to try something new.
Vanilla Bean Wafers, 5 oz. - Retail Value $8.49/Member Price $6.99
These cookies are another repeat, but one I'm more excited about. They totally nod to that classic Nilla Wafer cookie that was a staple throughout my childhood but with a matured flavor. They're thin and crunchy, and a bit crumbly. I'm into them! I try not to keep cookies around the house because it's just way too tempting to snack on them more often than I should, but if I'm going to have some around, this is a great less-bad-for-you option.
Verdict: NatureBox has quickly become a favorite subscription—I love that they offer full-size snacks with resealable packaging and that while fun and a tiny bit indulgent, they also have a healthy spin. This month I received five full-size packages, which included 3 repeat items and 2 new ones.
