From Twinkle with Love by Sandhya Menon - Retail Value $18.99
This is an Owl Crate exclusive cover variant!
Book Summary from Amazon:
Aspiring filmmaker and wallflower Twinkle Mehra has stories she wants to tell and universes she wants to explore, if only the world would listen. So when fellow film geek Sahil Roy approaches her to direct a movie for the upcoming Summer Festival, Twinkle is all over it. The chance to publicly showcase her voice as a director? Dream come true. The fact that it gets her closer to her longtime crush, Neil Roy—a.k.a. Sahil’s twin brother? Dream come true x 2.
When mystery man “N” begins emailing her, Twinkle is sure it’s Neil, finally ready to begin their happily-ever-after. The only slightly inconvenient problem is that, in the course of movie-making, she’s fallen madly in love with the irresistibly adorkable Sahil.
Twinkle soon realizes that resistance is futile: The romance she’s got is not the one she’s scripted. But will it be enough?
Told through the letters Twinkle writes to her favorite female filmmakers, From Twinkle, with Love navigates big truths about friendship, family, and the unexpected places love can find you.
This is a cute book, perfect for summer reading for teens. I love that she's an aspiring filmmaker, and writes to the female filmmakers that inspire her. This is the type of book that would have been perfect for high-school me to read.(I was a film major in college for a bit a before I switched to Anthropology.) Personally, I tend to prefer YA books that aren't contemporary, but I think that's just because I'm 33. (I think this book is perfect for the intended audience!)
And this book is signed!
And there is also a letter from the author, Sandhya Menon:
And a promotional keychain:
Here are the other bookish goodies in the box, including one I am holding up for you!
My Summer is Booked Microfiber Towel - Estimated Value $20?
This is an exclusive design for Owl Crate readers. And it's making me wish I was on the beach with a book in hand! (I also kind of wish this towel was bigger!) Maybe I'm spoiled from the FabFitFun microfiber towels!
OwlCrate Exclusive Mug - Value $15?
This is another exclusive item just for OwlCrate subscribers - and I think goes well with the beach vacation towel - this is perfect for some iced tea!
It reads "Book Worm and Proud."
And we also have the perfect tea to go with it:
Riddle's Tea Shoppe and Curiosities Apple Picking at Night Tea - Value $4?
This tea is a sweet apple blend made with all natural ingredients. And it can work as hot or iced tea!
And if you like this tea, I recommend checking out their subscription!
Ink & Wonder Design Bookmark - Approximate Value $6.50
This bookmark is made from actual wood! (Sustainably harvested wood). The design is lovely, and I just learned Ink and Wonder has their own subscription box, too!
Sunny Day Pen - Estimated Value $1?
This cute little cactus tops this yellow pen.
And I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I'm obsessed with the way this pen writes! It's my new go-to!
And lastly, each OwlCrate box comes with an exclusive pin to match the theme!
Verdict: I absolutely love OwlCrate! I think they are getting better and better every year, and the amount of exclusive items and designs they include in each box makes this entire unboxing and reading experience feel so special. I think this would be a great box to gift or to gift to yourself!
What do you think of the June OwlCrate box? Did you love the box?
