Paper Pumpkin July 2018 Review
This month’s theme is “Picnic Paradise”:
The instruction leaflet is not as informative as the how-to-video on YouTube, which I prefer to watch before starting the project. I use the instruction leaflet as a guide when I get stuck on a step.
Enclosed in each monthly kit is a water-based dye ink stamp pad, this month’s color is soft suede, and a photopolymer stamp set. The photopolymer stamp set has, “To: From:”, “For You”, “Thank You”, and “Thinking of You” and three lines and dashes.
Here I am stamping one of three card bases; I stamped all four sides.
Then I added vellum with the adhesive dots and the die-cut strawberry I placed on top of vellum. I like the added touch of the vellum against the strawberry die-cut, but the stamped lines did nothing for the card. Plus, I'm not one to have straight lines so not being even didn’t give it the desired look. So, I just stamped one card and left the rest of the cards blank.
Here’s the finished looked of the three cards and a picnic basket with gingham tissue paper which screams picnic. The basket was cumbersome and getting the handle assembled was tricky, but after a few tries, I got it. Sometimes the easiest of things can be made difficult by me not being patient and paying attention to detail. Each card had a strawberry, apple, and berry on the front of the card with matching envelopes, I appreciate when this crafting kit has matching envelopes.
Verdict: This month’s Paper Pumpkin was a mediocre craft for me, partly due to the initial assembling of the picnic basket, but overall a cute summer theme kit. The kit this month was creative, and I had a different style of craft, the picnic basket along with the cards which had matching envelopes which were an adorable addition. If you love crafting and have individuals to send the cards to or gift to another this is the subscription to try out. This craft kit sends quality paper products and all the materials to make a variety of cards well worth the $19.95 a month subscription cost.
