Play! by Sephora is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription. Each month they send you six samples, a PLAY! BOOK of tips and tricks, and a PLAY! PASS for in-store learning.

Sephora recently launched a special Play! Luxe by Sephora Box that sold out within days. (This box is a one-time-purchase and separate from the subscription.) This review is of that limited edition box.

This Play Luxe box comes with a limited edition beauty bag, too.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Box: Play! Luxe Box SOLD OUT

The Cost: $25 (one-time purchase, not a monthly subscription)

Now, let's check out this bag:

Exclusive Sephora Makeup Bag - Value $10?

This is a wrap style makeup bag in a pink metallic finish. It has two pockets on the inner flap (perfect for travel sized makeup brushes, and a larger pocket on the other side for all your makeup.

Now, on to the items!

YSL Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain in Color #1 - Size 2 ml? Estimated Value $12

This formula is like a lip stain/liquid lipstick hybrid. If you don't like the feeling of wearing a liquid lipstick on your lips, but still want high-pigment and staying power, I recommend checking this out. It doesn't last as long as a long-lasting liquid lipstick, but it feels like I'm wearing nothing on my lips, and it also wears down beautifully. (I'm not much of a bold red lipstick person, so I actually preferred this after an hour or so of wear.)

Here it is swatched:

Guerlain L’Or Radiance Primer – 5 ml Value $12.33

This primer is infused with flakes of pure 24-carat gold! Fancy!

It's a gel formula that absorbs quickly and is designed to smooth fine lines and help lock in moisture. I love how smooth it made my skin feel. I can't say I noticed a difference in staying power between this and some of the other primers I use (all are good), so I won't be splurging on the full-size version, but I'm happy to use this luxurious sample for the next few weeks!

La Mer The Eye Concentrate – 3 ml Value $43

As soon as I saw La Mer was in this box, I knew I'd be buying one - I'm all about trying pricey, luxe skincare at a deep discount! (And I'm happy to report that this tube is completely full!)

This eye cream is designed to "visibly improve dark circles for a luminous, healthy appearance." Dark circles are one of my biggest (and unsolvable) beauty concerns (right up there with cellulite and stretch marks), so I was very excited to try this.

I applied it this morning and was impressed with how quickly it absorbed and how hydrated it made my skin feel. Later today I caught my reflection in the mirror and thought, "huh, my dark circles don't look so bad today." I chalked it up to a good night's sleep, but maybe it's part La Mer's doing? I'm not 100% sure, but I do know that I will be cutting this tube open so I can use every last drop of this cream!

SK-II  R.N.A. POWER Radical New Age Cream - 2.5 ml Value $7.19

This face cream is designed to diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles, firm skin, and improve dullness and uneven texture. It feels rich but absorbs so quickly! The only bummer here is that the sample is tiny!

Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Classico Mascara - 2 ml Value $6.40

Finally, a mascara that lives up to its name!

I was so impressed with this formula! Volume? Check! Length? Check! Lash Definition? Check! I had no clumping issues after applying many layers, and got all the lash drama I wanted. A+!

Atelier Cologne Iris Rebelle – 4 ml Value $10.63

This is a purse-sized perfume spray.

It's a floral blend with notes of orange flower, black pepper, and white musk accord. I'm not much of a perfume wearer, but I seem to always like Atelier Cologne scents, and this one is another winner for me.

Verdict: This box has a value of approximately $101.55. (Or $91.55 if you don't put any value in the makeup bag.) I love trying luxe beauty brands, so this was definitely worth the $25 to me. I discovered an affordable favorite in the mascara, too!

What do you think of the Play! Luxe Sephora box? Did you grab one?

And while this box has sold out, I bought an extra one for a giveaway! Enter below and good luck! (Open to US residents 18 and older.)

I’m so sad that I didn’t get one of these boxes! I was too late. One of the best products I have discovered from subscription boxes is Feel Pumpkin and Walnut facial cleanser. It smells sooo good! It’s especially nice in the fall, but I like that scent anytime! Another great item is the Dermasuri Deep Exfoliating Mitt that I got from Fab Fit Fun. After using this thing my skin was so soft! What came off of it was, well, yuck! This thing removes EVERYTHING! And to think that I thought I already was exfoliating properly! I use the Spongelles, too! (I love those! ) I really enjoy discovering new products.

Colour pop lip stains was one of the best finds I found in a subscription box. Great coverage that lasts for so little money. My husband loves the Harry’s shave club. My favorite item I found was in the Macys beauty box. Elizabeth Arden superstart is how I start my day.
