Sudden Coffee Subscription Review July 2018
This quarter Sudden Coffee is featuring the Mzuzu Union (pronounced mug-zu-su), which is a self-owned co-op of smallholder coffee farmers.
There was an insert that included some additional information about the Mzuzu Union (like the fact that 25% of the owners are women!) and tasting notes for this brew.
A fun little sticker was also included!
Mzuzu Single-Origin Instant Coffee, 8 cups
Tasting Notes: Lemon, Sugarcane, Dried Apricot
This coffee was roasted by Equator Coffees & Teas (a partner of Sudden Coffee, who also offers instant on their website for $3.25 each).
This coffee was packaged in an adorable, portable, shelf-stable tube that included brewing directions. It was very easy to make – simply add the crystallized coffee into 8-10 oz. of hot water, stir, and enjoy.
So, I admit I was skeptical about trying instant coffee and went into it with the frame of mind that I may not like it. But, it smelled like coffee…it looked like coffee… and it tasted like coffee! Now, this medium blend is a bit more acidic than I typically prefer (I opt for darker roasts) and I had to add some sweetener and cream to drink it but I was pleasantly surprised. I even did the old switch-a-roo taste test on my husband, who was shocked that it was instant after I did the reveal!
Verdict: Sudden Coffee is a great product to have on hand, and opened my eyes up to the convenience of instant coffee. I travel for my “day job” and occasionally find myself in a pickle without enough time to grab a proper cup of coffee. This is definitely a product that I will keep in my laptop bag to have on hand whenever a pick-me-up is needed!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, as of publication, this blend is still available and should ship in 3-5 days from the time of your order.

Value Breakdown: At $22.00 + free shipping, each of the 8 cups of coffee costs $2.75 per cup. This is about the price you’d pay for a similar cup of coffee at any of the leading coffee stores – so it seems pretty fair in the value department.
