Wantable Fitness July 2018 Review

wantable fitness product list

Inside the box, I received a booklet listing out the items I got, plus a note from my stylist for the month. (Note that your stylist does change month to month, unlike with other services where you grow a relationship with one stylist.)

wantable fitness info card

wantable fitness exchange info

I also got a card about their exchange policy.

In the style quiz I took when signing up, I noted the types of things I like, love, and dislike wearing, as well as the price range I'd be most comfortable spending on different pieces (like tops, bottoms, and tertiary styles like jackets, etc.). To get a feeling for the prices and quality I should expect with this subscription, I picked the mid-range price bracket. It looks like the items I got in this box run from $50-$88.00.

Shape Active Hana Fleece Mesh Jacket in Heather Grey, Size Medium - Retail Value $88.00

This hoodie has some cool mesh details that give it an edgy vibe. I love the thumbholes in the sleeves! The fabric is 60% rayon polyester and 35% spandex melange terry, which makes for a smooth, soft, and surprisingly lightweight hoodie. I could see wearing this on an early morning or late evening run. Here in midsummer, it's been so hot and humid that I don't feel like it's ever going to be jacket weather again, to be honest!

wantable fitness gray painterly pattern leggings

Shape Active Strokes Print Legging, Size Large - Retail Value $68.00

There are a lot of pieces from Shape Active this month! These leggings have what I'd call a medium thickness and a sleek, smooth finish. (They're 78% polyester, 22% spandex.) The pattern is really cool (though I'm not sure it's the most flattering, but who could care, haha!), and I appreciate the high waistline.

wantable fitness black mesh bra

wantable fitness black mesh bra bacl

Glyder Revo Sports Bra in Black Heather, Size Medium - Retail Value $56.00

This top is a little snug on me, but I like how breathable the netted back is. The bra is 42% polyester, 41% nylon, 17% spandex, so it's stretchy and smooth, but stiff enough that it feels secure. The netted overlay on the front isn't my favorite, design-wise.

wantable fitness red sports bra and black leggings

wantable fitness red sports bra on model wantable fitness back of red sports bra

Lukka Lux Bond Bra Flare Size Medium - Retail Value $68.00, Member Price $50.00

This next top has juuuuust a bit too much going on for my taste. I actually don't mind the red (I'm usually a neutrals gal, but I've been trying to broaden my horizons lately), but the gap under the bust and the wide open back are a little extra for me. Also, there's an extra network of straps to navigate around the shoulders that I'm not too proud to admit I trapped myself inside a few times before putting this bra on the right way, haha! The bra is 90% polyester and 10% spandex so it has a nice sturdiness to it. I think it's a cool design, but it's not quite my thing.

wantable fitness black leggings

wantable fitness perforated legging detail

Shape Active Element Run Tight in Warp Dot, Size Large - Listed Value $59.00

More Shape! These leggings fit great and had a comfortable, slightly sleeker fit, but the mesh panels around the ankles cut into my calves in a way I didn't love. There's actually a really understated gray and black pattern in this pair. (It's a little hard to see in the photos above.) They're 88% polyester and 12% spandex and have a slightly more brushed-cotton finish to them than the other looks in the box.

wantable fitness gray stripe leggings

Last but not least! (I totally forgot to put my sneakers back on after getting dressed for this photo, LOL! Consider this me pre-yoga class rather than pre-gym-workout!)

wantable fitness white striped bra

wantable fitness back of white striped bra

Glyder Define Bra in White and Black Pinstripe, Size Medium - Retail Value $58.00

I love how light and crisp the design of this bra is. Did you notice that the front doubles as a pocket? Kind of a weird invention, but if I wanted to slip my gym membership card in the front for safekeeping while I ran on the treadmill, I totally could! The straps on this 88% nylon, 12% spandex fabric are just thick enough, and the fit is a little snug, but not restrictive.

wantable fitness black gray and white leggings

wantable fitness gray knees on leggings

Onzie High Rise Track Legging in Slate Combo, Size Large - Retail Value $69.00

Lastly, there are these tri-color leggings, which have a brushed-cotton feel. (The fabric is 87% polyester and 13% spandex.) They're legitimately comfy—they're the kind of thing I'd wear to a yin yoga class. I love the neutral colors, though the white being on the bottom makes me feel like I'm wearing some kind of high, George Washington socks, hehe!

The Verdict: Wantable doesn't have an automatic discount for buying these items via their service. If you keep 5+ items from your order, you do get 20% off, but if I only purchase, say, the sports bra I liked from this shipment, I'll still be paying full price for it. Some items are listed as less than they're found at retail, but everything else I received was full price. I liked the quality of everything, and the fit was pretty consistently solid. Nothing felt like enough of a wow for me to make a purchase (though I do like this Glyder bra). I end up only paying the $20.00 styling fee, which would've otherwise gone towards any purchase I may have made. This box had a lot of one brand in it (Shape Active), but typically there's more of a mix of brands per box. Because of that, I like to recommend this subscription to people looking to learn about new, different fitness brands. It's a fun way to try before you buy!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Wantable curates its boxes based on each individual's preferences as well as what's available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $20.00 with free shipping. The total retail value of the items inside was $466.00. If I kept everything, I would receive the 20% off discount, meaning I'd pay just $372.80 for all of the pieces.

I really like the glyder bra with pocket. That is handy. Looks nice too.

You look great in everything and I love the jacket!

I don’t understand why fitness bras have gotten so complicated with extra straps all over the place. Who is buying these bras that require a map to figure out how to put on?

Amy C.

I don’t think this part is correct (unless it’s a new policy): “If you keep 3 or 4 items you also get a 20% discount, and if you keep all 5 items you get a 30% discount.”

I’ve always been sent 7 items and get a 20% discount if I keep 5 or more.

Love the red and white sports bras!

You’re so right, Amy! That was carried over from what their old pricing policy used to be. The correct one is 20% off if you keep 5 or more 🙂

Thanks so much for reading and commenting!!!

I think they are from Target!

“The Products: 5 pieces of workout or athleisure clothing curated to match the preferences you set when you sign up. Keep 3 or more pieces to save 20%. Keep all 5, and save 30%!”

Is this a new discount policy? I’ve always gotten 7 pieces and a 20% discount if I keep at least 5.

Also, I love that last sports bra!

I’m confused about the pricing. In the top part of the review, where the standard information about what the box purpose is for and the pricing, it says: Keep 3 or more pieces and get 20% off. Keep all 5 and get 30% off. And that the styling fee goes towards any purchase. So wouldn’t that mean that you could buy only the Glider bra and pay 38? And is it 20% off for 3 plus items and 30% off for 5 plus items? It seems the pricing info is different in the intro versus at the end of the review. Could you clear this up for me? And those off you who have tried both want able fitness and Kate Hudson’s fitness service, which do you like more? Last question: Does wantable have clothes that are nice for a adult modern dance, ballet or tap class?

Anna, I love your reviews because you give such great and honest info, plus your personality shines through your writing!

Hmm… The 3 or more discount seems to have been done away with, so that the 20% off for 5+ items is the only one that’s active now. Thanks for pointing out that old info! It is correct that the styling fee goes towards whatever you choose to purchase from the box, but in the end, you’re still paying the full retail price for that item (just in two installments, if you will). Hope that helps clear some things up!

Also, I think Wantable items could translate to a tap class! (Which sounds SO fun, by the way!!!) I will say that you have less control over what you get with Wantable than with Fabletics (Kate Hudson’s service). With Wantable, they curate a box of items for you based on your tastes/sizing, but it’s a bit more of a surprise each month. With Fabletics, your monthly membership is essentially just granting you access to discounted prices on Fabletics merchandise – you get to choose what you want to buy each month. I will say the patterns and designs I’ve gotten in Wantable boxes are usually a bit bolder/more avant-garde than what I get from Fabletics, but the quality seems equivalent between the two services!

I hope that helps, Leslie! Thanks so much for reading 🙂
