Yogi Surprise July 2018 Review

This month centers around new adventures. Last month, the box featured more of a booklet-style info card. It looks like they've simplified things down to a card.

There's also a card featuring a yoga sequence to help open you up to all these new adventures! I like that they suggest doing this series outdoors—it's amazing what difference it makes getting out of a room or studio.

I also got a promo card for Desk Yogi, which is an employee wellness program.

Hip Pack by Aloha for Yogi Surprise - Retail Value $36.00

I loooove this style of bag! Sure I look a little like a dad on vacation in the 90s, but I love not having a backpack knocking against my back, let alone a tote or purse constantly sliding around my shoulders. This pouch is SUCH nice quality, too. It's made from 100% coated Tyvek®, which is water and weatherproof as well as incredibly soft and light. The comfy strap measures between about 29"-43" depending on how you adjust it. And there's a zippered inner pocket for extra important items like keys and credit cards. How cool is that?!

Justea African Chai, 15 sachets - Retail Value $9.00

Mmmm I love chai tea! This version is full of warm, dessert-y spices like clove, allspice, cinnamon, ginger, and licorice root, plus black pepper, fennel, and rose petals to make the flavor all the more alluring. It's lovely plain (and apparently very good iced, according to the Justea site), but I still like it with a hearty dose of milk and a swirl of honey. (Sort of a not-latte latte, haha!)

Yogi Surprise Crystal Quartz Pendant Necklace

How gorgeous is this exclusive item?! There's something really pretty about this snow-white crystal hanging from such a delicate gold 24" chain. (The bag also includes a white faux-leather cord that you can swap with the gold one if that's more your style.)

Badger Aloe Vera Gel, 4 fl. oz - Retail Value $6.99

I've recently acquired my first summer sunburn (on my HIP of all places... how did I miss my hip?!), so I'm happy to have this natural aloe vera gel to help soothe the itch. The organic and fair trade aloe juice feels cooling and smooth rubbing into my skin, plus I can feel the moisture it provides right away.

Nantucket Spider Backpacker Natural Deet-Free Bug Repellant, 4 fl. oz. - Retail Value $8.99

I'm heading to the mountains of Montana for vacation at the end of the summer, and I am 100% bringing this natural insect repellant! While I love how well they work, I'm always a little creeped out by the chemicals in commercial brand bug repellants. Plus the smell? It can get pretty horrible. This brand has a lovely herbal aroma to it—there's citronella in there, but it's tempered with other ingredients essential oils so that you don't feel like you've got your nose right up against a candle. I've only been able to try it in the not-so-buggy landscape of my front yard, but I'm bite-free so far! Wish me luck in the woods!

The Verdict: I liked this box a lot! Maybe it's just because I've got some traveling coming up in the next few months, but all of the items felt really relevant and handy to me. The necklace was maybe the one item that didn't feel super "practical", but who doesn't love getting something sparkly?! I'm most impressed by that hip pack. The quality is just SO nice. It feels like something I'd see at Nordstrom and stalk until it was on sale, haha!

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the August box. Sign up on or by the 13th to get the next month’s box! All orders processed after the 13th will ship the following month.

I love this box. It’s in my top 3. I’m thrilled they send jewelry now and I got the most beautiful piece of quartz. I’m with you on the hip-pack! I love being hands free and I love Aloha brand since we got the bathing suit bag in Popsugar last summer

I love this box and have been a subscriber for a couple years. The boxes always amazes me with their value, quality, and unique, cool items. I also get the Yogi Surprise jewelry box, and once we started receiving mostly malas and matching bracelets with natural, genuine stones, it’s also one of my favorite boxes.
