ZenPop Stationery Pack June 2018 Review
The box includes a thank you note with a coupon code to use on their site.
I also got a detailed product list with descriptions and names for each item. There's not much English copy on the packaging for the products in this box, so having descriptions on this sheet is really helpful!
One Piece Lock Notebook
One Piece is a suuuper popular manga and anime series. This little journal is only about as big as a small postcard, and it has a lock on the side like an old-school diary. It's not the most secure lock in the world, but putting one of the two included keys in the lock definitely makes cracking open this lined notebook feel more fun.
Negai Ema Sticky Notes
These bitty notes are only about 2 inches wide, but the design and colors are really charming. I like that these notes are inspired by the kinds of votive picture tablets that are a part of traditional Japanese culture. I get to enjoy some cute stationery and learn a bit about Japanese life all at once!
Present Mini Cards
Each of these tiny paper present shapes has a matching folded card tucked under its "ribbon". What a cute alternative to a traditional card—I could see putting this on top of a small gift box or gift card envelope that's a bit too small to be topped with a full-size card.
Summer Stickers
Some of these stickers are translucent. Some are opaque. All of them are adorable! It's hard not to be cheerful when looking over these summery colors/designs. I'll probably hold onto these and use them to decorate my planner through August!
Arigatou Washi Tape
This roll of translucent washi tape says "thank you" in both English and Japanese. I like the rainbow-colored flowers trimming the tape, too. I'll definitely be using this to seal thank you card envelopes.
Chiyogami Paper
Chiyogami is like origami paper but covered in intricate patterns. I'm not awesome at origami (though there is a guide for making a chopstick pocket on the back of the package), but I might use these papers for other crafts, card making, or even as wrapping paper for tiny presents.
Bunny Paper Pack
I LOVE these cute little bags! They fold out into stout little packages that are about the size of the favor bags you'd find at weddings. I want to have a party where I put candy or a tiny gift inside each one and set them each place setting at my table. There are little ties that go around the ears of each bunny, but it's also fun to leave the bag open with the ears perked up.
Mini Letter Set
This pink set comes with stickers, papers, envelopes, and little adhesive-backed labels for writing out addresses. The design features a little illustration of a panda that takes off its "costume" to reveal that it's just a plain ol' white polar bear! So cute!
Just Fit Highlighter
This orange highlighter is a bright coral color that I'm not used to seeing in highlighters! To be fair, it behaves a bit more like a marker than a highlighter, but I love seeing the juicy hue streaking across my notes. There are two tips to the marker—one with a chisel tip and the other with a more pointed tip—so you can scribble notes or easily highlight a line.
Uni Jet Stream Color Gel Pen
This pen has a bright grape color and a soft, not-entirely-opaque finish. It's comfy to write with thanks to the easy-flowing ink and the soft grip.
Here's a quick demo of each pen!
Petta to Marker Glue
I've never seen a marker quite like this one, and I think it's super handy. The design is the same bear pattern from the stationery set. When you pump the felt tip of this pen, blue-tinted glue flows down it like ink might in a paint marker. The blue glue has just enough stickiness to it to turn any paper into a sticky note, and when it dries, it becomes clear.
Rink Watercolor Washi Tape
This red-orange washi tape has a watercolor pattern on it, which makes it great for adding a decorative touch to stationery, journal pages, and more. It looks a little funky when set against green or blue-toned paper, but it's fresh and rosy when taped to white or even pinkish paper.
Bonus: Summiko Gurashi Stamp
Eeee! This stamp is SO cute! It's a little ghost wearing an apron with a pad of deep purple ink. I'm so in love with this squishy little ghost. I might use this as my own personal seal on letters and stationery from here on in!
Verdict: There is lots to love in this ZenPop Stationery Pack! I liked all of the kawaii gifts the best, such as the stamp, the bunny bags, and the panda papers. But I liked that there were some pretty patterns mixed in to shake things up. I was happy with the quality of what I got and the authenticity of getting so many actual Asian products to play with!
