Elevita July 2018 Review

Once again, everything arrived in this lovely cotton drawstring bag! Such a nice bonus!

This is the letter I received in my package this month, detailing the contents. I especially appreciate the detail it provides about the artisans who created this month's handicrafts. It gives it such a special, personal touch!

Hematite Bracelet, Philippines

I have received several pieces from this artisan through Elevita, nearly every month. This is the first time I have ever received a hematite piece from her, though, and I really like it! It's very shiny and pretty. She is a single mother and is supported in large part by her work with Elevita.

Batik Basket, Ghana

I can't believe this fabric basket was hand-batiked! It's so beautiful! I can think of about a hundred good uses for this, too. It's about 3" high and 4"x4" high/wide. This was made by a collective of women in Cape Coast who have organized to earn a living wage.

Picture Frame, India

This picture frame is so pretty! You don't often see picture frames in subscription boxes, but I think this is awesome. I'm happy to have it! This was crafted in India by a nonprofit organization of artisans who, while committed to quality, suffer from handicaps, extreme poverty, and other disadvantages.

The Verdict: Elevita is awesome! I really appreciate everything they do to help global artisans, and I love feeling like I'm a part of that. This month's items were all great! I can't often find values for the items Elevita sends, but I always feel like the value far outstrips the cost of the box. $30 for these lovely items is a steal!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the August box. Order by the 18th to get the current month's box.

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $30 with free shipping, which means that each of the 3 items in the box has an average cost of $10.

I love the batik basket. I could not figure out what it was until that last picture.
The drawstring bag is a terrific way to present a box.
