Exotic Noods is a ramen subscription box that delivers noodles from around the world every month! You receive four or eight ramens a month, and you can choose “regular” or “no spicy.” Bonus— this box doesn't have “Exotic Noods” prominently displayed if that is something you don't want others to see 😉
There are three subscription options for this box. You can get the red pack, which will require you to cook your noodles in a pot or separate bowl, the black pack, which comes conveniently packaged and you only need to add hot water, or the green pack, which is both the red and black packs in one box.
This review is of the Red 4 Pack, $15 a month, box.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Exotic Noods July 2018 Review
This month no info sheet was included. All of the ramens had English instructions for cooking, but I have no idea what the official names of these noodles are. Bear with me while I try to wing it!
Seafood Party
It is through this subscription I learned that, while I love fresh seafood, I absolutely cannot do seafood flavored ramen. The smell alone is just too funky for me to get down with, and it was really hard to get over the fishy smell and actually taste it. I did taste it, but that only reaffirmed that ramen fish broth is not for me.
Potato Noodle Soup
This ramen actually had a slight kick of something to make it a little spicy, and while it was a surprise based on the packaging I was all over it! The noodles were extra curly and super long, which is perfect for slurping, and overall this was really tasty.
Red Packet That Looks Like It Would Be Spicy But Wasn’t
Based on the red packaging and the chili pepper on the design, I was really expecting this to be spicy. I didn’t find it to really be spicy at all, and that was a bit of a disappointment. Some of my favorite noodles from this subscription have been the ones that kept my mouth burning for an hour after eating, so this fell a little flat in the taste and flavor department. The noodles were thin and firm which provided a nice texture, even though my personal preference is noodles that are thicker.
Japanese Style Udon Noodle Soup
I love udon and this did not disappoint. The noodles were delightfully thick and chewy, and the broth had a great savory note without being too salty. After I tasted this udon I made a 6-minute egg and called it a meal, and the egg yolk took this udon from really good to pretty great. This was the clear winner of the box this month.
The Verdict: I usually enjoy my box of noods, but this month's box fell a little flat. I was really missing that info sheet to explain these ramens and the region they are popular, and it was frustrating to not even know the name of some of the ramens I was eating. At $3.75 a pack, Exotic Noods needs to keep up with their packaging and presentation in order to make the value of the overall subscription worth it.
To Wrap Up:
Can you get this box if you sign up today? Since the target ship date, each month is the 5th, I believe if you sign up today you will get the September box.
Value Breakdown: This box costs $15 with free shipping and I received four packs of ramen. That breaks down to $3.75 a pack.
