FaithBox July 2018 Review

Faithbox includes a handy booklet that comes with an overview of the products, connect with their partners, Faithbox stories, prayer request section, and a community challenge. This month’s theme is “Empowerment.”

Signature Dainty Necklace –

Signature Dainty Necklace – Retail Value $42.00

This dainty branch necklace comes in silver and gold. I received the necklace in gold, and I like the design.  I tend to wear gold necklaces, so this was a win-win for me. The necklace is a great statement piece and conversation starter. The branch represents me, and Jesus is the vine, taken from John 15:5 NLT:

Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.

There is an info card with the necklace describing the Sanctuary Project which is a community of survivors and their advocates to empower women through products they have made. Read more about their story and founders story here.

Here I am wearing the dainty branch necklace.

Giving Grounds Coffee, 2oz – Estimated Value $2.17 (buy a 12oz package for $12.99)

These coffee grounds have citrus and caramel notes, as noted on the packaging and I received a 2oz packet that will yield a flavorful 6oz cup of coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker, but occasionally I will have an iced coffee. I have a friend who's a coffee drinker and will pass on for her to enjoy.

From Giving Grounds:

Fruity - Full - Lively.

Ugandan Gold is a single origin coffee sourced with pride from the country that inspired us to start Giving Grounds in the first place - Uganda. This 100% Arabica coffee is grown in the Sipi Falls region of Uganda and contains a depth of flavor notes ranging from citrus to caramel.

Project7 Gum Front Porch Lemonade Gourmet Gum, 1 pack – Retail Value $1.40 (get a 12 pack $16.75 here)

I love a flavorful gum, and this gum delivered even though the gum loses its flavor fast. The gum was sweet, tart, and tasted of lemonade. The piece of gum is small, and it was like chewing a small piece of food. I’m used to my piece of gum to be bigger and the flavor to last a lot longer. The gum is sugar-free. I received twelve pieces in the flavor front porch lemonade. Read about Project7’s journey here.

Everybody, Always By Bob Goff - MSRP $16.99 (found here for $10.19)

This book made me re-think how I need to love everybody, always and do it unconditionally. The first couple of chapters discussed how to have the mindsight to take the scripture, to heart, from John 15:17NLT “This is my command: Love each other.” The author weaved in stories of his personal life to give me a better understanding of what it means to love one another. I look forward to finishing and gleaning more of what it means to love.

From Bob Goff’s website:

What happens when we stop avoiding difficult people and simply love everyone? In his wildly entertaining and inspiring follow-up to the New York Times bestselling phenomenon Love Does, Bob Goff takes readers on a life-altering journey into the secret of living without fear, care, constraint, or worry. The path toward the outsized, unfettered, liberated existence we all long for is found in a truth as simple to say as it is hard to do: love people, even the difficult ones, without distinction and without limits. Driven by Bob's trademark hilarious and insightful storytelling, Everybody, Always reveals the lessons Bob learned - often the hard way - about what it means to love without inhibition, insecurity, or restriction. From finding the right friends to discovering the upside of failure, Everybody, Always points the way to embodying love by doing the unexpected, the intimidating, the seemingly impossible. Whether losing his shoes while skydiving solo or befriending a Ugandan witch doctor, Bob steps into life with a no-limits embrace of others that is as infectious as it is extraordinarily ordinary. Everybody, Always reveals how we can do the same.

Empowerment Note Cards

I love handwritten notes and pride myself on sending notes, cards, and letters often. I received two empowerment note cards from FaithBox that’s based on this month’s theme, “Empowerment.” The cards say “YOU ARE YOUR ONLY LIMIT” and “LET’S DO THIS.”

Spiritual Inventory

Another Faithbox exclusive, a spiritual inventory for a month. I started this August 1st. The spiritual inventory has two sides, on one side of the card it has, “my verse for the month,” “spiritual practice,” and a numerical chart to circle each day that I did something for my focus for the month. And on the back of the card “pay it forward,” “list three ways God has blessed me this month,” and “where am I on my spiritual journey.”

Everyday Faith

Each month I will receive Everyday Faith, and this month is all about empowerment. The booklet is a monthly devotional with scriptures and quotes to guide me through the month, spiritually.

The Verdict: The July Faithbox has an estimated value of $62.56, not including the Faithbox exclusive products. The subscription is $29.99 plus $5 shipping. The necklace is a little over the cost of the box, so that’s nice when the hero item is more than the subscription. The box encouraged me, elevated my soul, and allowed me to think about my spiritual journey and how I can love others more. The sub delivered on its promise, to send devotionals, quotes, prayers, fair-trade, eco-friendly, and one-for-one products from companies who do good and have a positive impact. The box was enjoyable, and I look forward to next month’s box.

I don’t follow all of the faith subscription boxes, but check in once in a while and this is the best one I have seen! Thank you for sharing a passage in the book and the necklace is wonderfully both meaningful and beautiful.
