Ipsy is giving MSA readers early access to sign up for the Ipsy Glam Bag Plus waitlist! (This is a completely separate subscription from the standard $10 Ipsy Glam Bag.) Ipsy Glam Bag Plus is a monthly $25 subscription box that sends out 5 full-sized beauty items every month. (Check out our full Ipsy Glam Bag Plus FAQ post to learn more!)

I got the email that I’m able to upgrade but when I click it and it takes me to the app, it doesn’t allow me to upgrade. And I can’t get ANYONE to answer an email. Grrrrr

They won’t but if you wait they will tell you that you are getting one in Oct if you have already wait listed yourself.

I got an Email and I did not jump through those fake hoops. I just added my name and I got notification today that I will get the Glam Bag Plus.

I really don’t like the fake spamming we are supposed to do to move up. I refused to do that.

I got the form to be on the waiting list, but it won’t allow me to fill anything out.

Hi Jodie, you would have needed to fill the form out before Sept 7th to get on the waitlist with the link above. Hope you get added the next time it opens!

I’m a little confused about this “early wait list” thing. I signed up via this, and haven’t heard anything.. has anyone else?

When I logged into my Ipsy account the other day, it prompted me to join the waitlist, and said I’m “in line with 15k others”.. sigh.

Anyone have any further info/updates?

Kristen, yes, I am waitlisted as well, but that’s awesome. Very few people were even bale to get on the waitlist. The waitlist has 15k people on it but Ipsy has over 3 milliin subscribers. The first wave to be released in October is 10k boxes so you hvae a very good chance if getting it in october, if not then likely november at the latest since they add more spots each month after that.

I didn’t get the email until the 12th, although I signed up thru link on here right away (first day it was up) and they also gave told me the number of people on waitlist as being 15k. 4 days after you got same number. This is already coming across as hinky. Just like with boxycharm upgrade. According to email I got, I would be waitlisted, but was guaranteed to make it off the waitlist as long as I signed up for upgrade by the 17th….. not the message I received after clicking “upgrade” tho.

Just curious where did you get this information, about the 10,000 boxes being released first and such, i haven’t heard any of this, I feel out of the loop lol

I think I will resub to Ipsy to give this a try when this is offered on a more wide scale. I’m trying to be patient with boxycharm but it’s taking them too long to start using profiles and every month the boxes seem to be thrown together and not to mention, the same few brands over and over. I’m hoping for more brand variety with Ipsy plus as well. I am okay with sitting out on it for a few months so they can work the kinks out and then dive in.

So, are subscribers going to get this exact box or was this a promo box for youtubers?

I’d hate to sign up thinking that I’m getting full sized high end products only to get full sized ‘drugstore like’ products.

I couldnt agree more, my concern is that they show an INCREDIBLE )TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE) BOX for promo, and then the people who sign up will get items that are nothing like the items shown… i would hate that 🙁

No, you wouldn’t get the same exact items the influencers got. You would get items that Ipsy will choose for you based on your profile.

If they follow your profile that is. I changed my profile to match my 13 year old instead of getting a new subscription because I didn’t want to lose my length of membership and points. She still gets eyeshadow, eyeliner and other makeup that she does not wear and that’s not selected in her profile. Hopefully they follow profiles better with Ipsy Plus.

I just signed up for this waitlist hoping to get the new Ipsy bag.

I’m SO DONE with BoxyCharm. I hope Ipsy is ready for this because we sure are. It will be nice to have an option other than BC and they sure as heck need some competition so they learn their customers Will buy from another company that treats their customers well.

I agree… while I have enjoyed some items I receive in BC, I feel they need some competition becuase I really am turned off by some of their tactics lately. I have always had excellent CS from Ipsy, anytime there is an issues amd really love their shopper daily deals as well as their curation system. Ipsy has over 3 million subscribers so well past the amount of subscribers BC has so BC better up their CS game while they have a chance.

If I don’t get an invite to upgrade in the next week, I’ll assume I’ve been passed over and will cancel. I don’t find I use as much from my ipsy bags as I use from other subs.

Not seeing my post on here. I was just sharing that I inquired Ipsy about their criteria for sending out the invites for the glam plus gag.
They replied back within an hour of my email:

We’re currently opening up the Waitlist to active members selected randomly. We hear you, and we’ll pass your suggestion to our team to prioritize dedicated members.

So it is random. I’ve been a subscriber for 3 years – no upgrade email option yet .

I’ve been a subscriber for 6-1/2 years and I didn’t get an email option either.

I don’t like how they’re handling this. I emailed this morning inquiring about the criteria used for sending invites for the glam bag plus. They answered with:

So some ppl have already gotten emails from ipsy saying they’re getting the upgrade. I signed up using this form the day it posted and I haven’t heard anything at all. Pretty upset about it too since I canceled play and another cheap sub so I could get this one.

I’ve been with Ipsy – with no breaks for over 3 years and I haven’t received any email for Ipsy glam bag plus.

My daughter got an email this morning offering her the Glam Bag Plus. She has subscribed to Ipsy for almost two years. (Oct. will be two). She has never reviewed a thing. And has never had the “improve my Glam Bag “ .(She still gets perfect bags for her). Maybe they are offering solely based on time subscribed? She doesn’t want the Plus bag and it is killing me. I subscribed a few months after her. And I now set up a second account. FOMO is all consuming.

Yeah, they’re pretty much just choosing at random. They have like 3 million subscribers and only 10,000 spots available for the 1st run.There’s going to be a lot of disappointed customers.

Ah at least my sub is active, i just want the IPlus. I haven’t received any email invite for IPlus. I don’t really care for the $10 sub. Looking to cancel BC after a yr of poopie boxes (and only 1 good box), BL was way hyped only for more poopie end of season clearanced items. Ive been checking my email multiple times a day, send me my invite alrdy IPLUS -_-!!!

Obviously, it has nothing to do with length of time subscribed (which sucks) because I have been subscribed for 6-1/2 years. I just checked and I subscribed in Feb 2012. I wasn’t sure how long but I knew it had been a long time. I have a million of those little bags!

I cancelled my Sephora play for Ipsy. I was getting jaded from all the repeats in my Play Box and with this new subscription upgrade being available soon it was all I needed to convince me to switch! I wonder if Sephora will feel the heat & work on upgrading their Play box (they prob don’t care lol)

This was an easy pass for me. Ipsy has way too many variations and I hardly ever get what the youtube influencers get . I kept a subscription for my teen daughter but she hardly wears make up and she doesn’t need all the fancy skin care so I’ll stick to the regular sub just for her and hopefully I can get Boxy Luxe.

“Coming Soon! Glam Bag Plus
Thanks for submitting your contact info! ipsy will reach out to you via email in the coming weeks about what to expect next.”

Not sure what that means, but I guess I’ll be on the lookout.

I’ve been an Ipsy subscriber for years, and I think it’s a little off-putting that I hear about this new subscription and the mailing list for it via MSA instead of getting even one communication from Ipsy directly. I’ve been on the fence about whether to renew my yearly sub to them next month – this upgrade looks interesting, but I’m not sure I can justify $25/mo to myself for it. Unless I cancel Boxy, which isn’t out of the question. Decisions, decisions…

Yes I did get an email detailing info about this new Ipsy sub but I enjoy the 10 dollar one because I have so much product at the current sizes plus my Granddaughters and Myself prefer the size of the present glambags and getting one every month at the 10 bucks price allows for organizing items and distribution to All Daughter-in-laws and Granddaughters. Will assess as this new sub progresses.
