Le Metier De Beaute Beauty Vault VIP Review – May/June/July 2018

The Beauty Vault VIP Subscription from Le Metier De Beaute is a luxury beauty subscription box that cost me $348 upfront for the entire year.

(FYI - two boxes were sent this month because Le Metier was several months behind in shipping boxes and combined them into one month. These items are the May, June, and July boxes combined.)

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

FYI - this subscription is only available for purchase once a year.

The Subscription Box: Beauty Vault VIP by Le Metier de Beaute

The Cost: $29 a month ($348 one-time purchase for an annual subscription – only available once a year)

The Products: 1 full sized item, or a variety of sample products from Le Metier de Beaute. The products will be a curated mix of Color, Skincare, Pre-release Sneak Peaks, Lab Previews, and Vault Exclusives.

Ships to: US only

This box came with a card detailing the items included and instructions for use.

And FYI - the powder brush mentioned in the card is not included:

Now, on to the items:

Le Metier De Beaute Sun Drenched Bronzer - Retail Value $55

This bronzer is deeper colored than most of my bronzers, but it's easy to blend out - just keep in mind that a little goes a long way! The pigment is excellent, and the sparkle is very subtle.

Le Metier De Beaute Lip Creme in Posh - Retail Value $36

This lip gloss is pretty pigmented (close to full coverage) with a metallic pink shimmer and lots of shine. The formula isn't too sticky, either.

Le Metier De Beaute Hydra Plump Lipstick in Babydoll - Retail Value $45

This lipstick is super moisturizing and wears more like a lip balm/lipstick hybrid. The pink coral color is creamy with a slight sheen. It wears down pretty quickly though - this is something you'd need to reapply throughout the day.

Le Metier De Beaute Dualistic Liner in Azul - Retail Value $36

This eyeliner pencil color is a dark emerald green with a subtle shimmer. The pigment is great, it goes on smoothly, and it's easy to smudge. (But, because it's easy to smudge it doesn't stay put without help from a setting spray!)

Le Metier De Beaute Precision Lip Liner in L'Amour - Retail Value $42

This pencil allows you to draw a very precise line, goes on smoothly, and most impressively - stays put!

Le Metier De Beaute Precision Liquid Eyeliner in Noir - Retail Value $42

This is exactly what you would expect from a liquid liner. Great pigment, and it doesn't budge once it dries.

Here is it swatched beneath the bronzer, lip gloss, lipstick, eyeliner, and lip liner:

Le Metier De Beaute Ultimate Hydrator - Retail Value $225

This face cream is formulated with squalene, shea butter, and hyaluronic acid. It's designed to help instantly plump your skin, and it absorbs quickly with a matte finish, so it's perfect to use pre-makeup, too.

Le Metier De Beaute Glow 10ai Mask - Retail Value $135

Oof. I did not enjoy the scent of this mask. But I powered through since you only have to wear it for 5-15 minutes until it dries and you can pull it off.

This mask peeled off to reveal hydrated skin. But I really didn't like the smell, so I probably won't be using this again.

Verdict: This box has a retail value of $616. That's covering 3 months of missing boxes, but it's still amazing! I appreciate that Le Metier De Beaute was able to turn things around and ship out a solid box, but they were not proactive in messaging about the shipping delays and box issues, and that's something to keep in mind if you are thinking about subscribing.

I also think that given these communication and shipping issues over the past few months, if Le Metier De Beaute does this box again, they should offer a monthly option instead of just annual. They need to build back trust before they can ask subscribers to pay for a year up front.

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. This subscription is only available for purchase once a year. The site still says May 2018 as the sign up date, so I'm not sure if/when it will actually open for new subscriptions.

Coupon – no coupons available for this subscription.

What do you think of the May/June/July Beauty Vault VIP box?

Glad they got the final boxes out to us, I really love all of the items, especially the Ultimate Hydrator! Hope they do the sub again, but definitely with less time commitment- I would even be comfortable with 3 month increments.

That mask doesn’t look good…looks like the ingredients separated. Makes me think it is old. I don’t get this box but received a night cream from this brand in a GWP. The cream smelled awful. I tired to use a little but couldn’t stand the smell.

I think they’re asking quite a lot if they expect new subscribers to pay $350 a year upfront with all their shipping problems. I don’t know anyone who has money to throw away for a box they never receive.

I got mine, and for the first time with ANY box, everything was usable for me!!! I don’t mind the smell of the mask, and it is really nice to use (for me). I really hope that this isn’t the last of this box. I love the skincare, and when the colors work for me, I am over the moon with the quality of the makeup.

The scent of that mask…ugh! It smelled like garlic, for some reason. It was separated and just looked like something wayyyy past its prime. I couldn’t even try it once. Sad, because it sounds like it was supposed to have some great benefits to the skin…but there’s no way I’m going to be able to stick with it, even for five minutes.

The eye pencil is gorgeous! I am glad that they did come through and send out some products for those months. I wish them well, but I don’t feel comfortable paying up front ever again.

I didn’t think it was past its prime, but now that you mention it… I definitely don’t feel bad about tossing it.
