Merkaela Winter "Evolve" Box Summer 2018 Review

merkaela evolve card

merkaela evolve product list

Here's the info card and product list for this box. I love the thoughtful notes about the curation of the box and the significance of each item. They even include an affirmation, a meditation, and a playlist to support my journey during this season!

merkaela constantly evolve card

merkaela mantra card

This business-card-sized affirmation is easy to keep with me in my wallet or purse. It makes for an uplifting reminder as I go about my busy day.

merkaela blocks tube

merkaela wooden blocks in tube package

merkaela blocks tower

merkaela small wooden blocks set

merkaela wooden blocks

Merkaela Zen Stones - Listed Value $15.00

This set of "stones" is actually a bunch of little wooden blocks. They've got all different asymmetrical angles and descending sizes. According to the info card, you're supposed to stack, re-stack, and stack these blocks again as a meditative act. I also enjoy just playing with these "stones' almost like I would with a stress ball. Their unique shape makes them fun to roll around in my hand.

merkaela sage smudge

merkaela sage smudge bundle

Sacred Sage - Retail Value $6.50, Listed Value $6.00

Burning sage is supposed to be a cleansing practice that eliminates harmful bacteria and bad vibes from the air. I personally love the fresh, smoky, herbal aroma it leaves in a space.

merkaela lemongrass elixir

merkaela serenity spray

merkaela spray elixir

Lemongrass Meditation Elixir, 2 oz. - Listed Value $18.50

This spray smells so blissful. It's bright and citrusy, but not so sweet or candy-ish that it's distracting. It's intended for meditation, but I've been spraying it as a refreshing little reset while I'm at work.

merkaela herbal tea tin

merkaela tea tin

merkaela loose leaf tea

Clever Herbal Tea Ritual, 12-14 tsp. - Listed Value $8.50

This tea smells so uplifting! It's minty and fresh, yet grounded, thanks to its mix of peppermint, calendula, licorice, lemongrass, and other fancy herbs like ho shou wu, ginko, and gotu kola. According to the tin, this tea is great for things like focus, your immune system, and even libido! (Ooh la la!)

merkaela elderflower scrub

merkaela elderflower scrub

merkaela elderflower scrub open

Elderflower Exfoliator, 4 oz. - Listed Value $18.00

The scrubs are my favorite part of this subscription. This one features elderflowers (of course), sea salt, Epsom salt, dendritic salt, and olive oil in a formula that's both exfoliating and nourishing at once. The salt crystals are big, so I tend to use this scrub once or twice a week. (I don't wanna blast my skin too hard!) But I love the way it makes my skin feel. The fragrance is suuuuper delicate, too. Elderflower provides a very subtle, savory herbal aroma.

merkaela orange bar soap

merkaela soap bar

Sweet Orange Soap Bar - Listed Value $9.50

This citrusy, herbal soap smells so AMAZING. I love citrus smells, especially in the bathroom. This sweet orange soap is wonderful to enjoy first thing in the morning when my brain is feeling sleepy. The formula is also nourishing and not terribly drying on my hands like lots of commercial soaps can be.

merkaela tangerine and sage butter

merkaela body butter

merkaela bando shea butter

Tangerine and Sage Body Butter, 4 oz. - Retail Value $21.00, Listed Value $25.00

Apart from the scrubs, I also am in love with this subscription's natural body butters. They feature different blends based on the season, but this mildly citrusy, refreshing combination of tangerine and sage is right up my alley. The lotion is literally butter consistency, with a creamy, whipped thickness that feels SO luxurious. I love how it melts into my hands, delivering much-needed natural moisture to my dry skin. It's rich with shea butter, hemp oil, olive oil, vitamin E, and other feel-good ingredients that make for a top-notch formula.

The Verdict: This Merkaela box was lovely. This subscription feels like the luxury tier of natural, handcrafted products. They're incredibly simple, packaging-wise, but the quality of these blends is so nice. I'm SUCH a fan of the minimalist branding and the thorough information you get about each product. The mindfulness message is also awesome—having those mantras, playlists, and meditation tools in the box makes this box feel even more like a mini spa retreat.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! Hurry and get it while it lasts!

Coupon - Use code ALIVE15 to save 15% off your first quarterly box! Or, use code ALIVE20 to save 20% off your annual subscription!

Value Breakdown: The box costs $61.00, but going by the retail values I could find online and the listed values on the card, I estimate that there's $97.00 worth of product inside. Another way to look at it is that each item has an average cost of $8.71.

I’d definitely put it on your wishlist! It’s a great little box – one where you can really sense the thought that goes into curating it. I feel like it’d make an amazing gift for a natural beauty/wellness-minded person in your life, too. (It’s never too early to start bookmarking ideas for holiday gifts!)
