Pink Seoul Plus Box July/August 2018 Review
Prior to purchasing a subscription, PinkSeoul will ask you several customization questions. Some products are more appropriate/recommended for a particular skin type so be sure to figure out your skin type.
Here is the info sheet detailing the products included.
From Nature Red Ginseng Eye Wrinkle Solution Treatment, 1 oz – Retail Value $22
I have been trying really hard to include eye cream in my routine because I know it is a great preventative measure, and getting full-size treatments in subscription boxes makes it a lot easier! 33% of this product is red ginseng which is supposed to protect and improve skin elasticity, and I am happy that it didn’t irritate my occasionally sensitive eyes (sometimes eye creams just make my eyes water). A tiny bit of this goes a long way, so this size should leave me set for a while.
Max Clinic Water Lift Moisture Ampoule, 3.38 oz – Retail Value $48
The best way to describe this serum is like a thick, almost jelly-like water. I love the texture and a little bit of this goes a long way in helping my skin feel moisturized before I go to bed at night. This would be too much for my oily skin during the day when used with my other products, but I like the extra punch of hydration this provides and that I can use it in my nighttime routine as needed. This also doesn’t leave my skin sticky which some serums tend to do, so props for that!
JayJun Rose Blossom Mask – Retail Value $4
This mask is made with rose water and ceramide, two ingredients that are both great for soothing your skin. The rose scent wasn’t overpowering and this left mask my face feeling dewy and fresh.
Natural Friend Posoo Mask – Retail Value $4
I love this little baseball guy on the front of this mask, and the mask came with a plastic backing making it super easy to unfold. This mask was really cooling while also being hydrating, and overall it was a pleasant experience.
Welcos Mist in Aloe Vera Moisture, 4.05 oz – Retail Value $10
This was also included in this month's regular Pink Seoul Box, but I am okay with having a backup bottle. I recently had an allergic reaction to the Farmacy mask from Boxycharm (I have no idea to what ingredient, because this never happens and the ingredient list is packed with good stuff), and it took a solid two weeks for my skin to fully recover—it was red, easily irritated and inflamed, and it would burn if I used any product that was too harsh. This aloe mist really helped to combat my angry cheeks, and I actually used it in conjecture with the Soon Jung mask capsules for my very own aloe vera sheet masks to combat and sooth my skin.
Kocomei Flower Scent Toner in Witch Hazel Pore, 8.45 oz – Retail Value $13
This is another repeat from the regular Pink Seoul Box. I believe most subscribers would choose only the regular box or the PinkSeoul Plus box depending on skincare needs, so getting repeats isn’t an issue unless you are like me and review both boxes (but I am happy to have backups, so maybe the issue isn’t the right word for it). I was a little nervous trying this because when I was a teenager the witch hazel products I tried were too harsh for my skin. This version completely changed my opinion! This helped my pores feel clean without feeling stripped, and consistent use should help with oil control and overall skin texture. I was happy to see a toner in this box because I just finished the last of my toner from Pink Seoul back in April, so now I am set.
Etude House Soon Jung Dry Mask Capsules, 5 pc – Retail Value $6
THESE. ARE. SO. COOL. These are the bonus item for the box, and they were also included in the regular Pink Seoul Box. Remember those towels we would get when we were younger that was compressed into a small shape and magically turned into a towel when it met water? These capsules are the same idea, only they are sheet masks that you soak with your toner or essence of choice! I get more sheet masks than I can count each month, but I am still ecstatic to have these—I can customize each one specifically to what my skin needs at that moment. These do need a couple rounds of liquid to fully absorb and be wet, so I just poured toner in, waited until it soaked up, then poured in more. This worked great with the aloe vera spray to soothe my irritated skin, and I bet it would work well with the witch hazel toner when my skin’s oiliness is out of control. So many options!
The Verdict: I have really started to look forward to my bi-monthly PinkSeoul Plus box! This box does a good job of sending both pricy and low-cost skincare items, and the products are always full-sized. This box promises a value of at least $80 and I calculated a value of exactly $107, which I think is the highest value I have seen from a Pink Seoul Plus box.
