Scentbird is a perfume subscription where you choose one fragrance per month. They offer a variety of authentic designer scents and allow you to narrow down by either traditional categories for notes (e.g., floral, woody, spicy, etc.) or more general descriptive terms (e.g., mysterious, classic, flirty). Subscribers also receive a monthly discount code that can be used on full-size bottles of perfume or cologne from the Scentbird shop.
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Scentbird for Women August 2018 Review
This month, I received Scentbird's “Scent of the Month.” You can either opt for the scent of the month or you can fill a queue with fragrances of your choosing:
There was what is basically an advertising flyer for this month’s scent, “Amazing Grace” by Philosophy.
Your fragrance is typically packaged in a cardboard tube and if you look at the back, it has instructions on how to put these in the Scentbird holders.
Amazing Grace by Philosophy – Estimated Value $10.82 (buy a .5 oz. bottle for $20)
The actual fragrance vial informs me that this is the cheaper “eau de toilette” (as opposed to the “eau de parfum” which is also available). I know there are some people who rave over Philosophy as a brand but I have always thought they were just OK and have never gotten too excited about their items. I probably have half a dozen sample vials of this already from GWPs.
This is really too floral for my tastes, and kind of powdery, with notes of freesia, jasmine, and rose, as well as bergamot, mandarin, and grapefruit, and a base of musk. This didn’t change much with my body chemistry over time and the sillage was fairly soft on me (but that may be due to being eau de toilette instead of something more concentrated).
Verdict: The estimated value of my fragrance this month is $10.82, which is below the month-to-month cost of the subscription, and I would probably be inclined to forgive that if this was new or a niche fragrance, but it’s been around for a long time. However, you don’t have to choose the “scent of the month” – you can get a more expensive fragrance, you can get previous Deck of Scarlet palettes, various lip and eye products from the likes of Tarte and Ardency Inn, and Scentbird branded bath and body items or scented candles (I really like their hand cream). So this subscription has become a lot more versatile and if you start building up too much fragrance in your stash, you can choose something else for your queue.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, all you have to do is choose this fragrance for your queue.
