ShaggySwag designs, creates, and delivers high quality, one-of-a-kind dog treats, toys, and other essential items in a curated monthly box. Their mission is to provide cool dog owners across the U.S. with a monthly delivery filled with top-of-the-line essentials, nutritious treats, exclusive toys, and dog swag inspired by the hip pets and humans of NYC.
ShaggySwag box types are determined based on the size of your pup. My Airedale/Lab mix, Del, weighs in at 55 pounds, which landed him in the Beastmode Shaggy large breed classification. The other options are Tiny Shaggy (dogs up to 10 pounds), Small Shaggy (dogs from 10-25 pounds), and Just Shaggy (dogs from 25-50 pounds).
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

ShaggySwag July 2018 Review
ShaggySwag offers a fun, original theme each month and this one is an emoji theme. Or maybe just a "fun" theme? I can't quite tell, but either way there's a lot of personality in this box, as always!
Pride Bites Emoji Tuff Ball Toy x 2 – Buy 3 for $7.99
These little plush emoji balls are a similar size to tennis balls, which remain Del's #1 love. I actually think he might have been a little confused by these guys because when I threw one in the yard for him, he chased it fervently, paused and looked around, then grabbed a nearby tennis ball in his mouth before running back. Haha! I gave it a few more tries, but the tennis ball won out every time. I bet that wouldn't be the case if these had a squeaker in them—that's about the only type of toy that can trump a tennis ball, it seems! Fun side note: these plushies are machine washable and supposedly they float.
Multipet International Tuff Enuff Bunny Chew Toy –Buy 3 for $29.99
This toy was a totally different story. I couldn't even get a picture because Del was tossing it around the yard in growly glee. When I first started receiving ShaggySwag, Del played with his chew toys so gently that I sometimes we even gave him our cat's little plush toys (much smaller and less durable—meant more for batting around) and they were totally unharmed after he was done with them. Since then, something has come alive inside of him and flimsier toys have met their maker shockingly soon after Del got his teeth around them. This toy definitely does feel as sturdy as it claims and I'm hoping it'll last for quite some time! The animal's a little creepy—it's like a purple rabbit with tentacles—but those tentacles squeak, so it's game over for Del. He's in love!
Healthy Dogma Duck Recipe Grain & Gluten Free Dog Biscuits, 5 oz. – Retail Value $4.95
These treats look like regular old biscuits, but they're a healthy upgrade. From the Duck Barkers site:
Duck Barkers are grain and gluten free all-natural treats for your best friend. These cookies are a good source of B12, Riboflavin, Iron and are a lean source of protein.
They're also made from all-natural ingredients and without toxic chemicals or residues. Into it!
Del truly isn't much of a biscuit-lover, and as much as these treats looked like biscuits to me, he could sense the difference immediately. You can see above that his tail is wagging like crazy and his stance is this, like, "I wish I could pounce on this treat" footing.
He gobbled the treat super quickly without leaving a single crumb behind (again, not the case with regular biscuits—he usually breaks them into little bits and then walks away) and then gave me this super-weird smile. Lol! He was totally ready for more.
Carolina Prim Sweet Tater Stix Dog Treats, 5 oz. — Buy a 12 oz. bag for $9.99 (found on sale here for $8.42)
These sweet potato treats are made solely from dehydrated sweet potatoes. Aka, also very healthy! I only got 6 in my bag, but I rarely give Del a treat this huge anyway, so I broke them into approximate thirds to make them last longer. The smell is a little odd—they didn't really smell like sweet potatoes to me, but then again I've never encountered a dehydrated one. The consistency was sort of chewy-seeming without being very sticky.
The pooch was quite interested just from the smell. Here he is shaking for his treat.
Aha, so this was one of those treats that were so precious, he had to run off and eat it in a corner. When I walked up behind him to take a picture, he lifted his head like, "nothin' to see here!" He ate it in a few bites and was super ready for more.
Mango Tango Grooming Wipes – Retail Value $7.49
These paw-cleaning wipes seem to be a ShaggySwag staple. We keep a towel by our back door to wipe down his paws if they're muddy, so I tossed a pack of these in my car last month and gave this month's pack to a friend. They have an awesome mango smell!
Earth Rated Poop Bags, 2 rolls (30 bags) — Buy 120 bags for $6.99 (found on sale here for $4.11)
I love these dog bags! They're nice and thick, and biodegradable. The past few months, I've received the scented kind which my husband and I don't love because they add to the poop smell rather than masking it. We both celebrated when we realized this month's rolls are unscented! Woo!
Verdict: This was a fun ShaggySwag box, and Del especially loved the healthy treats that were included. It says on the info card that there is "bonus swag" included (usually this is a ShaggySwag branded toy or human gift), but I didn't receive one this month. Honestly, I'm fine with it—I felt satisfied by what I received this time around! I always note that most if not all of ShaggySwag's offerings are eco-friendly and made in the USA, which I love. Additionally, they support Badass Brooklyn Animal Shelters. Two thumbs up.
