Diamond Crate By Sports Crate Celebration Box Review
This box came with a small info card to detail the products included.
Celebration Tee Shirt - Estimated Value $14.99 (based on other tees sold by Sports Crate here)
I don’t know what it is about Sports Crate, but they make the softest t-shirts. This shirt quickly joined the shirt from the last box as some of my absolute favorites to wear because it is so comfortable. I think the goal was to have this box in time for the fourth of July due to the celebration theme and the fact that the shirt shows an American flag made from baseball bats and team logos, but I will still be wearing this year-round.
Team Cinch bag – Estimated Value $9.99 (based on the same item for a different team here)
This is a solid backpack—the fabric is sturdy and isn’t going to rip easily. This would be perfect for throwing in a few water bottles and a small towel to take along with you on a hike, or for any time you need some hands free help in carrying essentials.
Celebration Bowl
This sports crate-branded bowl has become my new cereal bowl and I couldn’t be happier! It is a classic and basic plastic bowl with high sides that will do a great job of holding my milk and Special K while I cheer on my favorite team.
Team Flying Disk
This is a collapsible flying disk, which we called a frisbee back in my day. I can’t quite keep it collapsed when its folded, so this would have really benefited from having a small bag to store it in. I am not much of a frisbee person due to my horrible throwing and not great hand-eye coordination, but I could definitely see tossing this around at a BBQ so I think it still fits with the overall theme.
The Verdict: There is no beating around the bush—Sports Crate does not timely ship the products they offer. I am happy this box finally arrived, however, because I absolutely love the t-shirt, the backpack, and the bowl. I can take or leave the frisbee, but I do still think it fits with the celebration theme. Sports Crate says each box should have a retail value of about $50, and I think it is pretty clear this box does not meet that threshold as the two biggest items in the shirt and the backpack have a combined estimated value of about $25. That being said, if I walked into the D-backs team shop today I would be hard pressed to walk out with a t-shirt for under $30, let alone three other items. Getting a box of officially licensed team merchandise for $29.99 is still a good deal that I am happy with, but I wish the shipping wasn’t so unreliable.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? I do believe they are still shipping the Celebration Box!
Value Breakdown: This box costs $29.99 + free shipping, which means that each of the 4 items in the box has an average cost of $7.50.
