The Anfield Box 9 August 2018 Review

The ninth edition of The Anfield Box featured practical and unique items - and some of the most comfortable lounge pants I own!

You might get a little jarred like I was when opening the box - they again attached a little sound module that is activated when you open the lid and it's exposed to light! Pop it open to hear the song of the season - Allez Allez Allez! Stick it back on the attached adhesive to stop the sound.

It arrives with an information card that details a few of the items and the reasoning behind it.

It has a few little bits about becoming a member - who doesn't love receiving that little International Members gift at the beginning of each season!

You're also greeted by a letter from the club's CEO Peter Moore. I love that he mentions Shaqiri's scissor kick from the game in Michigan - I was there with friends and it was an unbelievable experience.

LFC Elite Leisure Tee - Value $33

I'm a total sucker for the LFC training gear and New Balance shirts - I use them for working out and lounging all of the time. This shirt combines the two into something that you could both workout and lounge in!

The short is 100% polyester and very lose fitting.

Of course, no LFC shirt is finished without the liver bird somewhere on the shirt!

Like I said, I'm a sucker for these shirts - so I couldn't have been happier with the selection this month - this will definitely find its way into my rotation.

Triumph Sweat Pants - Value $40-50? (based on $60 similar pants)

Heading into the fall and winter - there are two essentials to watching those 7:30 AM games at home - coffee and the coziest LFC gear you own. These are now at the top of my list.

They are super soft and warm - all while being more on the thin side, which I like.

This is basically my outfit for a 7:30 game!

There isn't much in terms of features - just a drawstring waist and two pockets.

Drawstring Backpack - Value $30-40?

This is the nicest bag I've received in a subscription so far!

While it has the drawstring like a gym bag - it has a lot of the quality and features of a backpack - just in time for back to school.

There's plenty of room inside - and the inside does have zipper pockets, so this thing is pretty versatile.

The back and straps are much higher quality than you'd expect from a gym bag, too.

It's a decent size, too! all while being collapsible enough to ship in this box.

Water Bottle - Value $15-20?

It you're traveling to your local pub for the 7:30 AM game - you may want to take some coffee in tow, why not carry it in this double wall insulated water bottle?

The quality reminds me of a Swell water bottle. It's all stainless steel and high quality.

Of course, the best part is that it comes with a message from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - who we probably won't get to see this entire season - get well soon!

Allez Allez Allez Mini Pennant - Value $10?

Spice up your watch room or office with the mini pennant - again featuring the song of the season and player autographs.

This Means More Mini poster - Value $5-10?

The final item looks more like a promotional New Balance poster. We get Dom, Matip, and Mo front and center with the latest club slogan - This Means More.

Which is the perfect time to pop in this video that I just love:

Verdict: The last box was always going to be hard to follow - but I thought they did a great job with this box. This is a higher priced box, but as a constant purchaser of LFC gear, all of that stuff is higher priced as well - so the pants and shirt almost make it for me alone. Combine those items with the water bottle and backpack and I think box #9 is a winner.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. It is currently sold out and the next opening would be for Box 10 box.

Oh help me. Why do I look at these reviews? At this time I cannot afford this box, but each one is fantastic! And I want them, haha.

Ah, seriously, thank you for your review. I enjoy them. You’re correct though, the last box was incredible; even so, I appreciate all of the practical “carry Liverpool with you everywhere” items in this box. Each item in this box is a winner for me (eh, maybe even the “ad style” mini poster).
