ZaaBox "Meet Me In Tahiti" July 2018 Review
Enclosed in the box is an info card describing the products and the product ingredients.
Each month the founder Mr. Strong sends a handwritten note, which leaves me blushing.
Tahitian Romance Sugar Scrub, 4oz – Estimated Value $8 (buy a 10 oz. jar for $19.99)
I love a good body scrub and expect the scrub to exfoliate and soften my skin. This scrub did that it wasn’t too gritty and it exfoliated and softened my skin. The scrub consists of, sugar, coconut oil, sunflower oil, emulsifying wax, and soy. I didn’t detect a heavy scent as I applied to my skin; I barely smelled anything, but others may detect an aroma, as it differs from each person.
Janay’s Butter Cream - Estimated Value $10.00
This is a thick and creamy body butter that’s lightly scented, the aroma reminded me of a piña colada. The butter cream consists of sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, cocoa, mango & shea butters, distilled water, vitamin E and fragrance oil. I was unable to find the product online, so the value is an estimate.
Dead Sea Mud Spa Bar - Retail Value $7.50
This large bar of soap was sudsy and got me squeaky clean. The handmade bar of soap consists of sponified olive oil, organic Shea butter, organic coconut oil, organic hemp oil, organic corn oil, soybean oil, activated charcoal, sea salt, and dead sea mud. The soap can be used on my face and body and is intended for all skin types.
Gleam Body Icing, 4oz - Retail Value $22.00
This product is new to me, and I don't usually wear body glitter or bronzer but will give this a try. The body icing as its called is an organic cruelty-free bronzing oil perfect for all skin tones. It intends to have a dewy, luminous finish, vanilla coconut scent, and it's from fine milled bronze and gold pigments to reflect, and it’s non-glitter. The website says an applicator glove comes with the bronzer which I didn’t receive in the box, which is odd since they website mentions it in the description of the product. I may purchase a glove if I think its needed when I use the bronzer next. I will use this bronzer for when I have my next outing or beach day.
Here’s a swatch of the body icing.
Phillip Ashley Chocolates, 2 pieces - Estimated Value $10.00 (buy a 12-piece box for $49)
I received a small box with two square shape chocolates, in the flavors “Tahitian Treats: Margarita & Crown and Coke .” The purple, dark chocolate tastes rich and has a creamy center and the second one reminds me of key lime pie. The chocolates were handcrafted in small batches using the finest ingredients with fair trade chocolate. I didn’t find this particular set of chocolate on their website, so the value is an estimate.
The Verdict: This month's ZaaBox was another enjoyable box and they continue to pamper me monthly as well as leaving me blushing from the handwritten note from Mr.Strong. This month’s value was slightly higher than previous boxes, but I’m still waiting for that “hero” item and much higher value from their boxes. There is no indicator of what their boxes will value, but that they will send 5 full-size luxurious, pampering products from a black-owned business. I received three full-size products this month, which is larger in size than previous months. I received four luxury products for my body and chocolates valued at $57.50. I enjoyed having my body pampered with the sugar scrub, moisturizing bar soap, and body butter, plus a bronzer that’s out of my comfort zone to try.
