September 2018 Box Review

Each box comes with an activity book that features tons of puzzles and activities, coloring pages and ways to build tracks around the house.

Lead The Pack T-shirt – MSRP $15.00

With each Hot Wheels box, you get an exclusive t-shirt! This month’s featured a red tee with the black-and-white checkered flag.

Racing Diamond Star Keychain

Racing Diamond Star Keychain – Retail Value $2.97

The next item in our box was this pretty neat bronze keychain with a trophy and the finishing checkered flag.

Nerve Hammer Car

Nerve Hammer Car – Estimated Retail Value $8.45

The first car in my box wasn’t packaged and literally rolled out at me. The body of the car is an aquamarine blue while the windows, hood, and windows are purple. The Nerve Hammer even features gold rims and detail on the doors.

Rodger Dodger 50th Anniversary Edition – Estimated Value $5-$35

This car is so cool, I wish I could shrink myself and take it to the track. It is painted a matte black with gold everything: motor, interior, rims. It is worth noting that while searching for this specific car, I found many different editions ranging from $5-$35!!

Mega Playmat – Estimated Value $4.50

This mega felt mat was a pretty neat inclusion in this box. I prefer it over tracks, that way I can start adding tracks later to build a super track! The image is of a circular race track with an audience and parking lot. It is also pretty big, measuring over 2 ½ feet wide by 2 feet tall! It also looks so real! Can you find my race cars in the second image?

Didja know? The box is also an item in itself! It had a gorilla punchout that I will be including in my mega track in the future.

It also has slots for the cars to pass through (and tracks) the front and back. I genuinely cannot wait to see new boxes and start building a bigger track!

Verdict: The Hot Wheels Challenge Accepted Box is a pretty rad box. I love racing and race cars; my dad had a pretty sweet '81 Camaro I was able to race once years ago. I did a quarter mile race and it was absolutely exhilarating! This box just brings happiness and joy to me and I know it will bring that same feeling to any lover of cars of any age. I really liked that I got the mat and two pretty sweet cars.

Wow, I am so glad I cancelled this box. I don’t see the value in this at all – a comparable tshirt would be $5 at Target, two $1 cars, a dollar store key chain, and mat that’s $9 at Amazon (but comes with 2 cars in that version)? It’s hard to find variety options for the track so that was the real star of the box.
