Did anyone else notice that Julep stopped giving you Jules for your birthday?

They give out a code for a free nail polish instead.

I’ve been a Maven for over 5 years and LOVE their polish. Julep has done a great job expanding their makeup line, but the polishes are just recycled colors.

I have around 300 bottles of Julep polishes (!!!! – that’s what happens when you sub for sooo long!) And there’s rarely anything that is released that excites me – besides their holo polishes.

These colors are really nice – and very ME! – but unoriginal. 🙁

And I already have two if the cushion complexes stashed (they are good, BTW).

The free polish collection for new subs is a great deal though – so if you’ve never subbed – go for it! They have WONDERFUL holiday sets coming and they have an AMAZING sale at the end of the year where you can get polishes for $2.

Side note: I’m a still a little miffed that they’re starting to charge Canadians for shipping now. I haven’t ordered anything since that change several mint ago…

Question: I love Julep as well, but are you at all strategic about your box picks? For instance, swapping in the more expensive skincare or makeup items and then choosing $5 nail polish as add-ons instead of in the box? So far I have just gotten what I wanted, but now I’m wanting to get the biggest bang for my buck. Any thoughts or tips? Thank you!

I LOVE their sheet masks that have the three step cleanser, mask and nite cream included. They are by far my favorite sheet mask EVER. That said, I’ve managed to stock pile quite a few sheet masks, so after getting the three pack as a reward for my 2000 Jules in a free October box, I will likely cancel. I do love the flexibility to select your items and freeze a box (as long as you remember to do either thing by the deadline). I feel like I got a lot of bang for my buck most months. I’m just on beauty box overload…. I will probably be back in the future….

It’s definitely worth it to use your box to stock up on the expensive skincare products. And sometimes you can wait for the new polishes to go on sale for $5 in the secret store that opens after the Maven box window. Also, the mystery boxes they sell occasionally are a good bang for the buck, especially if you’re still building your Julep collection.
