Loot Crate DX is Loot Crate's deluxe crate. They pitch it as an "elevated assortment of collectibles, apparel, home goods and more from your favorite pop culture franchises every month." They also promise no crossover items from the Core Loot Crate box.

Please Note: The July theme was "Team Up" - It just arrived a few days ago - so this is months late.

This box was sent for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

July 2018 Loot Crate DX Team Up Review

The July 2018 Loot Crate DX "Team Up" box featured Adventure Time, Marvel, Power Rangers, and The Princess Bride.

It comes with a fold-out information card that details the items in your box.

Princess Bride Pin - Value $10?

The July pin features The Princess Bride - Loot Crate DX pins are much larger than the pins you'll find in the core crate - I tend to like these better.

Ant-Man and The Wasp Tee - Value $15-20?

This is sort of a ringer style tee featuring Ant-Man and The Wasp!

This is a cool design for the exclusive tee! They list as a football t-shirt - and I can see that being like a logo of sorts.

Power Rangers 5-Pack - Value $30?

You may remember getting these individual figures in the November 2017 core crate - they also sold these in the Loot Vault for a time - so I was a bit surprised to see the 5-pack as one of the highlights of the box.

These do have a slightly different base color, though. You can link these all together to bring your Rangers together as one - unfortunately, you can't create a Megazord!

Marvel Stacking Ceramic Mug Set - Value $15?

You'd either get Cap and The Hulk or Iron Man and Spider-Man as your mug sets.

They use the classic character art for each mug - which I am loving.

What I'm not loving - The Hulk must've Hulked out in shipping and arrived broken. Hulk smash, indeed.

Adventure Time Hand Towel Set - Value $15-20?

The final item is probably the item of least value, but it easily my favorite of the items.

Putting Finn and Jake on anything will get my attention and make it a quick favorite. I'll be finding a use for these right away!

They're calling these a 'rally towel' - but I plan on using these for the bathroom and around the kitchen.

Verdict: Overall. I liked the shirt, towels, and mugs - but one of my mugs was shattered 🙁 - overall, it was a decent month for me - but it being 2 months late hurt my excitement quite a bit.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No – you can find the current month available at the top of their homepage. They are currently taking September subscriptions – every month’s cutoff date to order is the 19th of the month at midnight EST.

Does getting a replacement for broken items take as long as loot vault offers? Because then it’s two months for the box and another three to get an unhulked mug =/

That T shirt is great. I would love to get this sub but their shipping is atrocious.

I have this subscription and a loot wearables subscription for my son. He really enjoys them. But this shipping problem they’ve had has really put a damper on it. Any word on when or if they’ll ever get it togethet?

I feel the same – I wish I had more information about their shipping issues, but I don’t.

My son is Autistic. And this is kind of wrecking havoc on him. When we first got the subscriptions they would come like clock work. He would check his email and get the shipping notifications and track them. Now, it’s just a mess. I wish they would get it together.
