September 2018 'Metal' Loot Gaming Review
The September 2018 "Metal" Loot Gaming subscription box featured Spider-Man, Sonic, Metal Gear, and Doom.
You'll get a large fold-out information sheet.
One side features a 28x22 poster - this month's poster features Spider-Man as Spider-Punk from the video game.
The reverse side will walk you through the items in the crate.
Metal Sonic Pin - Value $5?
Metal Sonic gets 2 appearances in the September crate - first, as the pin.
Spider-Punk T-Shirt - Value $15?
The PS4 Spider-Man game is SO GOOD - so I'm excited to grab anything featuring Spidey right now! Spider-Punk has come to the forefront a bit with the suit being an unlockable item in-game - on top of that, it has an awesome special move attached to it. While you're crushing enemies with power chords, you can rock this shirt that is inspired by Spider-Punk's vest.
Doom Cacodemon Bottle Opener - Value $10-15?
The next item is a literal metal item. It features Cacodemon - one of the demons from the DOOM series. I'm happy to see magnets on the back so that you can keep this easily within reach - and showcase it, of course.
Metal Sonic Figure - Value $15-20?
Typically, my favorites items in these boxes are the figures/statues - that was the case again this month. As someone who was raised on Sonic, I'm always happy to add to my Sonic figure collection - and this is the first time getting anything Metal Sonic, so it's even better.
Metal Gear Solid Pint Glass - Value $10-15?
Finish the box off with a pint of your favorite beverage in a classic Metal Gear Solid glass. I can't believe it's been 20 years since the Metal Gear Solid Playstation game - while it makes me feel old, it also brings back some great memories of beating that game - especially the section where you had to switch controller ports to beat the mindreading foe. It was such a classic.
Verdict: As a gamer who is currently loving Spider-Man and has tons of nostalgia for both Sonic and Metal Gear Solid on PlayStation I thought the items were pretty darn good this month. There was nothing that totally blew me away, but I thought it hit my interests pretty well - so it was solid for me.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No - they're currently taking orders for the October 2018 box. You'll have until the 27th of each month to get that month's theme!
