Loved + Blessed September 2018 Review

This month’s Loved + Blessed theme is “Comfort Zone.”

Mini Poster

This month’s mini-poster says, “Focus On Your Next Steps Not Your Missteps,” and on the back of the mini-poster it says, “There are good things waiting for you behind your comfort zone.” These are appropriate sayings for this month’s theme, displaying this on my desk is an excellent reminder to work outside of my comfort zone and not focus on my “missteps.”

Reminder Sticker

The reminder sticker says, “Do It Scared.”

Scripture Card

This month’s scripture comes from Exodus 13:21NKJV:

And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.

This scripture has me perplexed as to how it relates to this month’s theme, any thoughts. Also, this scripture is referred to in this month’s book.

Follow The Cloud, Hearing God’s Voice One Next Step At A Time By John Stickl - Retail Value $15.99 (found here for $10.87)

There are four sections: “Awaken To Life,” “Receive His Grace,” “Experience His Presence,” and “Release His Kingdom.” The pastor/author’s stories were relatable and insightful, tons of scriptures that tied to the author’s various points.

From Amazon:

There is a big difference between being set free and living free.

How do I know what to do with my life? How do I hear God’s voice? Maybe the answer is easier than we think. When God led the Israelites from Egypt to the Promised Land, He gave them a cloud to follow. He led them in an intimately personal, ever-present way one next step at a time. He led them without revealing the whole picture because he wanted them to follow by faith.

In Follow the Cloud, Pastor John Stickl uses this image to ask, “What if we stopped letting obligation drive us and instead let grace lead us? What if instead of focusing on our faithfulness toward God, we focus on God’s faithfulness toward us?”

The cloud of God’s presence is moving in your life right now. Maybe God is inviting you to follow him to a new career or relationship. Maybe he is inviting you to extend forgiveness, share your story, or give up your addiction. Whatever your next step is, God is leading you to discover who you are, who he is, and what you were created to do. He is inviting you to a life of freedom. Inviting you home - one step at a time.

Encouragement Kit

Loved + Blessed include an Encouragement Kit with every subscription box. I love the idea of an encouragement kit. It is meant to be passed on to a stranger or as an encouragement for someone I know. The encouragement kit this month is a bracelet, a “Be Encouraged” card and info on the recipient being a part of the Love + Blessed Community. The gold winged bracelet (I think that’s the design.) is attached to a card with two scriptures one on the front and one on the back of the card. The first scripture, Hebrews 3:13 NIV “encourage one another daily,” and on the back of the card, Proverbs 27:9 MSG “…a sweet friendship refreshes the soul.” Love + Blessed suggests I encourage a friend with the bracelet and invite them to join the Love + Blessed Community and I can write an encouraging note on the small card that has “Be Encouraged” on the front. The bracelet is a nice departure from the pop-up cards in previous boxes. Also, the info on one of the cards indicates September 12th is National Day of Encouragement; I will pass this month’s encouragement kit to a new acquaintance who needs encouragement and have her open on September 12th.

Verdict: Loved + Blessed box delivers, the majority of the time, by sending me encouraging scriptures and products to elevate my soul and allow me to think and dissect my spiritual journey. This month’s theme, “Comfort Zone” was not well received as the overall box didn’t resonate with me, but the book did allow me to think about my journey and what God is calling me to do and what next steps God has for my future. I did enjoy receiving the bracelet from the encouragement kit. I enjoy passing the kit to a friend or stranger as encouragement, and I was glad not to receive the pop-up cards they have sent previously. The box usually falls around the value of the cost of the sub which is $19.99; this month value is low, but there’s no monetary value put on encouragement.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, order by the 21st of each month to get the next month's box. If you sign up today, you will receive the October box.

Regarding the scripture quote the first thing that came to mind is that God is always there during “light” and “dark” times…

But, it appears directly connected to the included book since the description mentions God leading step by step but not revealing the whole picture) hence in the cloud) and letting faith lead you even if you aren’t sure if everything.

Follow the cloud even if it’s out of your comfort zone as God is always leading day and night.
