Rachel Zoe Box of Style Fall 2018 Review + $25 Coupon

Liz, I’m having problems with comments not posting on the site- it’s so frustrating. This probably won’t post either so I’m not going to type much this time lol. Please help!

Hi Liz, I posted a long comment and it’s not showing up. It happens to me frequently after I type a comment on the site & has happened a few times in the last week. I’m not posting any links or names of other sites, swear words or anything like that. As you can imagine, it’s pretty frustrating to waste the time & effort.

Could you tell me what causes a comment not to post so I can avoid it ever happening in the future? That would be very helpful, thank you!

I’m not sure if anyone is still following this thread, but I have a question about the necklace if anyone could help?
I swapped for two and one was perfect but one just arrived with dirty/discoloration/dark spots on some of the gold tassels at the bottom. I’m wondering if this one is used or if anyone else received their necklace like this? This one wasn’t packaged exactly like the first one which could just mean it was taken out to look at, which is fine, of course. I believe the first one was new/never opened at all and still packaged the exact way it was shipped.
If anyone has any input, I’d appreciate it…I’d hate to tell the swapper it looks used if some of them shipped out like that.

Well I think that my favorite items include the add on items of the envelope clutch, Rachel Zoe earrings and cult nail polish. All of those items were high quality and fall like!

Belt…. I will wear it! Would be better if it were leather in my opinion…
Necklace super cute! I wore it once and it broke on the clasp. Very fragile….
Cape! I ordered the black. First I took off tassels. Then it was soooo large that I cut it down the middle in the back, cut out about 6 inches and sewed it back together. Now it fits better! But I must say it’s still not as flattering as I thought it would look. Well, next step to make some pillow covers with the fabric and tassels!

I got the box for $50. It arrived today. I am 5 feet tall and it is so long and drapes around me twice. I like it better than that poncho thing FFF had last fall.

I love the necklace and the belt is way better than I anticipated.

I got my $50 worth. But it is certainly not a box of “style” on me. There should be two size options. S/M and M/L/

I got the small belt and it is huge on me but I think I can do something with it.

Okay, something seems seriously off here – the first time I ordered BOS was winter 2016 and cancelled afterwards since I just wanted the one box. My necklace was defective and the lipstick had stuck to the lid, so I contacted CS. Long story short, it took them almost THREE MONTHS to admit fault and send me a new necklace and lipstick. They promised me a complimentary gift for the delay, but I never received it. Didn’t really mind since I was just happy to have the actual box items.
Fast forward to now, I liked the spoilers of this fall box and decided to sign up. Received my box today and guess what? The Caudalie leaked everywhere and my box was missing both the necklace AND the mascara.
I’m almost scared to contact CS now… what’s wrong with this company’s quality control??

Hmm they have taken away the ability to change credit card info. How convenient. There is no way to prevent them from billing over and over long after a cancellation has been requested. Guess if they bill me in November, I’ll wait until they ship to contact my bank. Surely they’ll stop sending boxes they can’t collect for at some point.

Got my box today, was excited about opening it up but my excitement quickly fizzled after I took a look inside the box… the Caudalie leaked EVERYWHERE, my capelet was the wrong color (I chose black and got sent the bordeux) and my mascara looked like it had been used in the World Cup, the box was totally smashed in and the brush was hanging out of the tube. So disappointed, hopefully BOS can fix it 🙁

I still haven’t received my Box?? Is anybody else having this problem? I ordered it on August 30th?? I’m getting very upset.

@Liz can you say how you wrapped the capelet? I just got my box today in the mail and it’s kind of disappointing how lost I get in the fabric. I tried to belt it exactly as you did and no mater what the capelet flares awkwardly at my hips, which makes it look like I have pillows stuffed in my hips! Please help with styling tips, I got this box mostly because of how wonderful the capelet looked on you, and now it’s all kind of crumbling! 🙁

I bought the box but haven’t received it. I emailed them over a week ago and I keep getting automated messages ” We are extremely busy and will get back to you as soon as possible” type non- message messages.

Has anyone else had problems communicating with their CS dept. and receiving their box? This is getting to be a concern.

Did Rachel sell the box? That would explain a lot! I did discontinue my sub in May finally. I was a charter subscriber too., I love Rachel and her clothing designs, love her style. I loved the box last year even but it has declined. I do like the cape in the pattern, but I hate acrylic! So I’m not looking forward to it if it’s itchy… I am a higher end shopper so I hate to see that in her box! I also know now that it literally goes on sale EVERY. Single. Time. So I waited to buy it and it’s one of the reasons I cancelled my annual subscription there is literally zero incentive to stay an annual subscriber. With most of them now! PopSugar either I cancelled my annual there too….and I miss the monthly box… I enjoyed it

Box of Style has always been my favorite. This time around has been mixed. The capelet is underwhelming. It is 100% acrylic and feels like it. It is shapeless (which I get since it has to fit a huge range of bodies), but even when I tried to style it with the belt, I wasn’t impressed. It is does not look or feel high end. I got the black one. Maybe the patterned one is better. The necklace is not bad. It feels like something I could pick up at Loft or Ann Taylor, though. Not terribly impressed with the belt, but it is better than I expected (I got the b-low the belt offering in the FFF box last year, and this one is indeed different and the buckle is large and heavy in the hand). I guess I can always use mascara, but I have plenty on my own. I am looking forward to the face serum. I have always really enjoyed the higher end skin care that comes in the BOS. The Kate Somerville moisturizer from the last box has been great! In general, my thoughts about this box are this: The exclusive collabs for the box feel like they are likely lower end than the retail “price” suggests (though we’ll never know since the box exclusives are not in stores). It feels sort of like when brands have “outlet” versions that trade on the prestige of the brand, but the quality is lower. This box feels redundant to previous BOS and, sadly, other subscription boxes that are at a lower price point (like FFF). I was so inspired by BOS last year, so I renewed my subscription at full price. The Fall 2018 box is a “miss” for me. Last year, the items seemed unique and ahead of the curve. I really want the Box of Style to succeed and hope that Winter hits it out of the park.

That’s two clothing items in a row from this box that make me look like a little girl trying on my mom’s wardrobe (I’m 5’2″ and don’t have very long arms). I’m so sad they don’t work for me (a petite option would be awesome!) because I loved the style for both of them and would have worn them all the time! I was planning to renew my yearly membership but I’m going to have to cancel.

I got the similar Fab Fit Fun belt in a mystery bundle this season and not only is it simpler (one ring so less pretty to close) but it only came in one length, which is too short for me to wear with a nice tail as is meant.

I love this curation! I need a new serum and mascara, the cape looks like it’s fabric I wouldn’t be embarrassed to go outside in (like other sub box wraps) and I am really pleased the company bothered to offer two sizes on the belt.

The necklace is pretty too!

I agree that’s a box of style has gone downhill The cape looks cheap something you could find at Marshall’s or Ross it used to be a great buy now it’s just Something get at a bargain basement. Time to cancel I’m disappointed the boxes to be so great and I look forward to receiving it

I canceled box of style, but actually love the cape, belt, and necklace. I will wait for this box to go on sale 🙂

It’s sad what happened to this box. Used to be such high quality, personalized picks that clearly seemed to come from RZ herself. Now just seems like the usual bargain bin, Marshalls quality, cut rate stuff you get from the usual Popsugar/Nina Garcia Quarterly bargain bin monthly boxes that eventually go out of businesses. I mean the last thing we all need is another polyester ill fitting cape that went out of style years ago. Someone mentioned that she sold her box – is that true?

I used to be a yearly subscriber from the beginning but I cancelled my sub. I imagine this box will go out of business soon like the others that have gone this way.

I definitely would purchase IF the necklace were silver or rose gold. But it’s not so I guess I just saved some money…..
