August 2018 Mystery Super Geek Box Review
The August box was alllllll about Mario - friends, and foes!
You'll get a card that includes the list of items in the box.
On the reverse side, you'll get a preview of the next month.
It always comes with a pin - this is the second month in a row with a unique pin from the t-shirt - this month's pin features the classic Mario mystery box.
Enemy Critters Shirt - Value $15?
This month's shirt features Mario at the center of an enemy Brady Bunch scenario. This is probably one of my favorite shirts from Super Geek Box - I like the artwork and the colors.
Yoshi Plush - Value $5-10 on Amazon
You'll get two plush keychains - Yoshi is available in 7 different colors.
The plush is around 5 inches tall from head to toe. I took the chain off of this one and our dog, Buckles, immediately stole it!
Mushroom Plush - Value $5-10?
You'll also get a little power up plushie keychain - we got a 1UP mushroom. Again, the dog REALLY loved this one since it's exactly his size.
Super Mario Retro LCD Watch - Value $7 on Walmart
The next Mario item is a little plastic watch in either red or yellow.
As expected, this is more of a kids watch - but you could totally rock it for a throw-back watch look.
Byte Me Dogtag - BONUS
This is listed as a bonus item on the card - it's a little metal dog tag featuring one of the piranha plants.
Take it from 8-bit to newer generation consoles by flipping sides.
Enemy Critter Socks - BONUS
These weren't on the card at all, so I'm assuming they're a second bonus item. These go along nicely with your 'Enemy Critters' shirt!
Verdict: It's still refreshing to see that they've steered clear of all of the clothing as the big-ticket items for the second month in a row. I thought this was a pretty good collection of Mario goods, too - while some of it would be better for the younger audience, the majority was for everyone - even my dog!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No - you can find the current month available at the top of their homepage. They are currently taking September subscriptions.
