Target has a new quarterly baby clothing subscription box! Each box includes items that haven’t been released for sale yet, for baby sizes newborn to 24 months.
This is a review of the 18 month Boy’s box.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Cat & Jack Baby Outfit August 2018 Review
How it works:

2. Receive and open your Cat & Jack Baby Outfit Box. You’ll get 6–7 pieces that haven’t been released to yet, plus a surprise gift.
3. Dress up your little one & make sure it all fits. Keep what you love & return what you don’t.
4. A new box will be delivered every season! We’ll automatically send the next size up to match your growing baby.
Included in my box was a coupon for 20% off a Cat & Jack baby or toddler apparel purchase! They also included a packing slip.
Cat & Jack Dinosaur Roar One Piece - Listed Retail Value: $15.50
The art on this one piece is really cute, and I love how it wraps around the side, too. I love a one piece for Jace because they're so low-maintenance and his shirt never rides up when carrying him around.
Cat & Jack Blue One Piece with Side Spikes - Estimated Retail Value: $12.99
Cat & Jack's boy boxes have seemed to have at least one item with these side spikes in each box and I kind of love them. They're so cute! Plus, this suit also has some little teeth on the sleeve! This piece is perfect for heading into Fall.
Cat & Jack Smiles AALLLL Around Bodysuit and Striped Pants Set - Listed Retail Value: $9.99
I super adore this graphic for Jace! I'm picky about what words and phrases I allow on my kids' clothing but Cat & Jack generally have neutral/adorable/uplifting phrases like this. This is perfect for Jace especially because he is the smiliest little boy! And this color scheme is a great choice for Fall, too.
These 18-month sizes definitely have some room for Jace to grow (hence the rolled waistband and cuffs on the pants), which means they'll last through the Fall for sure.
Cat & Jack Crisp Berry Hoodie & Fox Pants Set - Listed Retail Value: $12.99
I'm a sucker for little animal patches on the back of baby pants! And I love that there are so many matching outfit pieces this month. This set will be great through the Fall & Winter.
Unfortunately, the pants came with a defect: there's a hole in the seam where it looks like the fabric just didn't get held straight into the sewing machine. This is a pretty easy fix if you have access to a sewing machine, though. I called Customer Service about this, asking if they could just replace the pants or the set, and they told me they didn't have any inventory to replace the single item so they just refunded the entire box, so I could re-order the whole thing again to get a pair of pants without the defect, and they said I could just keep the duplicates. Generous of them, and more than I anticipated for them to do!
Here's Jace modeling this outfit by our makeshift baby gate by our stairs...
Cat & Jack Baby Boys' French Terry Hooded Sweatshirt - Retail Value: $9.99
I actually found this hoodie on Target's website, but in red. Again, a baby clothing detail I love: ears on hoods! So cute. This hoodie is made with comfortable, stretchy fabric and the blue colorway will actually go with a lot of what Jace wears already.
Cat and Jack Striped Bibdana - free gift
Every box from Cat & Jack includes a free gift. This quarter it's a little bibdana. These little guys are one of my favorite accessories for my baby because it's cute, goes with most outfits, and is so helpful for my drooly, teething 10-month-old.
Verdict: I love Cat & Jack, so I am so thrilled that Target launched this box! It seems like a natural response to the quarterly BabyGap Outfit Box, and it comes in at a lower price point as well. The items in this box are from the new Cat & Jack collections that haven’t been released for purchase at Target yet! The designs are all really cute, playful, and I'm a fan of the navy, maroon, and grey color scheme for Fall. I'm also happy with customer service's response to the defected pants. Also, I know I’m not alone in hoping that they expand this to toddler sizes, as well! I'd love a Cat & Jack box for my 3-year-old, too.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, as of publication, you should get this season's box. Note that your box may change depending on whether you choose for a boy or girl (and also the sizes, but I think they send the same items in various sizing since they only go from 0-24 months right now).
Value Breakdown: Not including any value for the free gift bibdana, this box adds up to $61.46. At $40/box, here's what you're approximately paying per item:
- Dinosaur One Piece: $10.09
- Navy One Piece: $8.40
- Smiles Set: $6.50
- Red Hoodie Set: $8.45
- Blue Hoodie: $6.50
- Bibdana: free gift
Additionally, these are exclusive items that have yet to be listed for sale from Target, so the only people who have their kids in these items are ones who bought this box. That may have its own kind of value to many people. Plus, I personally can’t deny the fun of having a surprise collection of clothing come in my mail, especially when it comes from a brand that I genuinely like almost everything from, like Cat & Jack. For me, I also get value from just not needing to go shopping. Jace automatically gets a mini, mix-and-match, seasonally appropriate collection of clothing. I still have to go dig through my toddler's old 12-18 month boxes to find things to fit Jace, and many of those are not seasonally appropriate in his current size.
