Tasu September 2018 "Immunity" Review
Tasu includes a card describing the monthly theme. On the reverse is a list of what's included with retail values. This month's theme is Immunity, which feels right on time considering the temps in my area just dropped into the 60s!
Zesty Immunity Blend Organic Tea — Listed Retail Value $8.00
First up in the Immunity box is tea, of course! Personally, I'm more of a coffee gal than a tea one, unless I am sick. So it's unlikely that I'll fix myself a mug unless I catch a bug of some sort. I realize this totally defeats the purpose of this tea in particular (um, hello, immunity??!), however, these are the facts! The tea does smell nice, and I'm sure with a little dab of honey it would be super soothing to drink.
Vanilla Lime Foaming Mild Scrub, 4oz. — Listed Retail Value $12.00
This vegan scrub looks like it would be super sticky, but it has a nice consistency. I used a little on my hands and they felt silky-smooth afterward. There aren't a ton of sugar graduals that way there are in some scrubs, and I actually like that since sometimes too much can feel pretty aggressive on the skin. The scent is nice, though there is something slightly weird about it that I can't quite put my finger on. Definitely pleasant enough to continue using though. I tend to lean towards function over form whereas my graphic designer friend is a sucker for packaging. This scrub would make us both happy!
BREATHE Yoga Mat Spray, 4oz. — Listed Retail Value $12.00
I am ashamed to admit how long its been since I rolled out my yoga mat, and even more ashamed to admit how long its been since I cleaned the darn thing. Fortunately this mat spray doubles as a fragrant room spray so it will actually get some use in my home! This BREATHE spray smells amazing. The notes of lime and lavender work together perfectly.
Immunity Essential Oil, .5ml — Listed Value $18.00
This blend of orange, cinnamon, eucalyptus, rosemary, and clove oils smells like a very sophisticated version of the stuff your mom rubbed on your chest when you were little and had the sniffles. As such, a part of me hates it, yet that little girl deep within feels so comforted by it that I'm ordering an oil diffuser right now.
Stone Chakra Bracelet – Listed Value $18.00
According to the card, this bracelet was beaded by hand with 22 matte "ammonite" beads. I think perhaps they meant amazonite, however, which is said to soothe the spirit and calm the soul. Regardless, the bracelet is delicate and pretty!
Au Naturel Tea Light Candles — Retail Value $6.00
These black raspberry vanilla scented candles were the "free surprise gift" in my September box. They are made of GMO-free soy wax and hand-poured in recyclable plastic containers. They have a nice, subtle scent. I can always use a few more tea lights around my house!
The Verdict: It was the first month ever for the Tasu subscription box. I am impressed! I thought it was a nice range of products that went with the monthly theme really well. I love seeing labels with very few ingredients, which each of these products are; plus bonus points for such beautiful packaging! I am especially excited about the foaming scrub and essential oil blend. Using a combo of retail values and list prices where retail values weren't available, the contents of this box add up to an estimated total of $74. I think this box is a good value for $33.91 this month (CAD $35.99 plus $7.99 shipping).
