YumeTwins September 2018 "Staycation" Review
You’ll receive a booklet with information on each item, contests, and kawaii culture – and don’t worry, this information is also available online! The theme for the month is “Staycation.” Let’s see what’s inside, eh?
Cute Zipper Bags
These are bonkers - but I kind of love them! I didn’t grow up with Pokemon, but I am fond of Pikachu, and these little bags are great for snacks, just like the pamphlet suggested. I’m also not above sticking a couple of these in my purse in case I encounter snacks out in the wild. Why, indeed, I would love to finish this cake pop later. Ooh, a free cookie I don’t feel like eating now? Yes, please!
Sanrio Eco Bag
I’ve received something similar to this before, and I’m happy to report that they’re a champion for an unexpected grocery run. You know when you go to Target and get whatever you needed (and then some), but then totally panic because you have nothing to eat at home, so you grab ravioli, parmesan, and grape tomatoes? Just me? That kind of grocery run. This bag is perfect for that!
Character Toothbrush Kit
This is hands down my favorite item this month! I travel a lot, but never for very long - an overnight to my mom’s place, going out of town for a wedding, etc. For some reason, I always forget my toothbrush! This set is so cute; I love the dark, Hello Kitty variety I received. The toothbrush folds into itself, so I can keep it in my purse if I want, and I like the cup, too - it would be great for my quick out-of-town jaunts, so I don’t have to waste paper products for a glass of water on my nightstand.
Onsen Bird Plushies
Sometimes plushies are hit or miss, but these are so completely cute! The pink one I received is adorable - and the fur is nice and soft. I’m not totally sure why it’s wearing a dapper hat, but you know what? I’m not going to question it.
Disney Tsum Tsum Tumbler
I can actually say that this water bottle is road-tested! I took it along with me on a long drive to a concert, and it was so nice having some water in the car for the trip. It is a bit on the narrow side, so it was a little loose in the cup holder, so some people might enjoy this more at home, but considering it was just a plastic tumbler, I thought it did a good job keeping the water cold for a good while. I loved that I received the blue-lidded one with the variety of Disney Tsum Tsum characters; maybe I’m biased, but I do think mine’s the cutest one I could have received.
Marumofubiyori Sticky Notes
Some of you may notice that these are my favorite kind of sticky notes! I love these ones that can be stuck in a book, or in my case, a notebook; these are also great for writing myself a note for the checkbook (yes, I still write checks), or to leave myself a note on my keyboard for to-do’s I can’t miss.
Verdict: I didn’t think this month’s YumeTwins theme was as iron-clad as some of the recent boxes, but I didn’t mind a bit! I thought the snack bags, tumbler and toothbrush kit were spot-on for the theme, and they were also incredibly practical; the plushie was adorable even if it wasn’t super theme-related, the eco bag is definitely going to be used regularly, and I’m always happy to see those sticky notes! I like that all the items are small and are able to work really well with desk and travel items I already own.
