BohoBabe October 2018 Review
BohoBabe provides an itemized list of products featured in your box, including a little blurb and a price for each product. October’s “Moonbabe” box arrived just in time for the new moon! Kismet? We will see!
Each month BohoBabe includes a few unlisted bonus items. This month features a pale pink, hand-painted feather with a hint of metallic flair, a postcard with a print of the moon phases and a sheet of stickers that also adorn the phases of the moon.
Aislyn's Treasures New Moon Roller Bottle Oil Blend - Retail Value $9.50
New Moon Oil blend is only concocted on a new moon. It is used to promote growth and restoration, and it is rumored to help absorb all of the wonderful energy it provides. I don’t know about that, but I am enjoying the soft floral fragrance and the nice softening oil blend on my skin. The packaging is also lovely and will look great on my vanity!
Lunar Dreams Creative Watercolor Illustration Moon Art - Listed Value $10
I provided a link to the artist’s Etsy shop, but I did not see this print for purchase yet. This 5x7 print is really cute! I think this print would make a better greeting card than print for me, but it would also be a fun gift to surprise someone special with. It is printed on sturdy cardstock and shipped in plastic with cardboard to keep its shape.
BohoBabe Galaxy Makeup Bag - Listed Value $14
I am a sucker for all things galaxy print. This bag really reminds me of a bigger version (this bag is almost 8.5in wide and 5.5in long) of an Ipsy bag from a few years ago (found here). I really like the watercolor pattern, and I am really feeling the purples and blues of this bag. I also appreciate that the lining is black to hide any makeup mishaps that happen in there; I can’t tell you how many pouches I’ve had that were stained from lipstick uuncapping and powder explosions (RIP).
The Moon Goddess Market Moon Child/Moon Goddess Patch - Retail Value $8
I love everything about this patch; I want to buy everything from this store! This witchy, magically dark ambiance is so satisfying. The feminine flowers and even the colors are calling to me. This patch measures 3 inches, and it is an iron on so it should be a foolproof application.
Magic Fairy Candles Handmade New Moon Bath Bomb - Retail Value $12
A bath bomb encasing a full moon-charged crystal -- this is something I am definitely saving for a special me-time occasion. New Moon bath bomb is made with organic shea butter and coconut oil. I can definitely pick up the scent of orange and peppermint essential oils. A pyramid-shaped bath bomb is so unique; I am excited to use it and see how big the crystal inside of it is (you can see it poking out the top of the bath bomb in the photos above).
Manchester Woodcraft Handmade Moon Phase Wall Hanging - Listed Value $12.50, Retail Value $12
BohoBabe is checking all of the boxes this month! I am in full support of home goods in subscription boxes, especially funky finds like this one. This measures about 51 inches and each piece is 3.5 inches long. The unfinished wood is smoothly sanded, and if you were so inclined, you could paint these pieces to your liking (I may try to find an opalescent paint to jazz it up). This lunar phase hanging and features the full moon in the center and each end is symmetrical, so it would look good just hanging straight down or draped horizontally. This item wins the most unique prize in this month’s box!
Slice of Pie Moon Child Marbled Swirl Ring & Trinket Dish - Listed Value $9 (currently out of stock)
Just what we all need, another catchall in a subscription box! No really---I know I could certainly fill one in every room of my house with the random trinkets I own; maybe if I did this, I wouldn’t lose half of all my earrings! Anyway, this smoky gray dish is different than all of the others; it is made of clay making it a little softer than the average dish, and I find the off-center MOON CHILD text pretty charming.
Here's the business card that was included for Three Schatze, the name of the small company that makes the sleep masks. I noticed a suggestion on their Etsy site that these masks would make good bridesmaids gifts—what a cute idea!
BohoBabe Black Gunmetal Crescent Moon Earrings - Listed Value $16
These shiny black studs are so cute! They are lightweight and very low maintenance for everyday wear, especially if you’re feeling festive around this time of year. In the photo above, I am wearing the Crescent Moon earrings paired with a few other studs and a starry ear jacket.
Amethyst Gemstone - Listed Value $10
I’ve been growing my collection of gemstones and crystals, so I was happy to find this uniquely shaped Amethyst in October’s box. This purple stone is known to have healing properties as well as the ability to cleanse negative energies around you and to keep your mind centered and focused.
The Verdict: The theme for this month’s BohoBabe Box is so on point for me, especially for an October box; in my opinion, all boxes in October should somehow nod to Halloween or an otherworldly theme, and they definitely nailed this one! I really love that they included so many items from small businesses that came together for this theme -- so expertly curated and thoughtfully put together! I think this box would make a great gift for a friend who loves handcrafted, eclectic items. All of these special finds make this box worth the cost of $49.99, and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase one for a friend.
