My Review
There isn’t a traditional information card or invoice included with the subscription box, but rather a personalized handwritten card with styling suggestions. I really enjoy the personalized and thoughtful touch of this card and the handy styling tips that were included.
Vintage Asian Tapestry Handbag—No Retail Value
I am impressed with the great condition of this purse. There are no snags in the gorgeously ornate tapestry work. Even the gold details like the top framing of the bag and clasp aren’t faded. The previous owner took exquisite care of this bag. The inside has a silk-like material with a pocket to enclose and separate. I paired this piece with the awesome velvet dress that was sent to me for in August for further pizzazz!
Snake Skin Bangle Bracelet—Retail Value Unavailable
I had a slight case of deja vu upon unboxing the September items upon seeing this bracelet. I actually received a nearly identical bangle in my May CHC Vintage Accessories box! This bracelet has a larger range of colors than its predecessor. The first snakeskin bracelet has mainly gold and brown painted segments. This bangle has jewel tone rosy burgundies and vibrant jade and turquoise hues. I can envision wearing the bracelets together for a fiercely bold statement or separately to coordinate with a variety of looks.
Bold Enamel and Bead Crescent Earrings—Retail Value Unavailable
I am a fan of big, audacious earrings and these ones fit the bill. They remind me of being a pre-teen in the early 90s watching Saved by the Bell! I can envision Kelly Kapowksi wearing these to a dance with a big, puffy off the shoulder, cocktail dress. However, even though these remind me of my childhood, don’t assume I am indicating these have a dated look. Bring these into 2018 with cropped mock neck sweater, skinny leg jeans, and booties for a great and glitzy fall look!
Swirl Post Earrings — Retail Value Unavailable
Talk about throwbacks to the 90s - I think my mom had a pair of these when I was growing up! Raspberry, turquoise, and royal purple were an insanely popular color combo back then; I say this because I for one had a jogging suit in that palette back in the day! These unique earrings are lightweight but can bring a heavyweight punch to any outfit you wear. Pair these with a leopard print buttondown, blazer, and mini skirt for an office look that even Angela Bower would longingly pine for!
Haunted Mansion Amulet — Retail Value Unavailable
This piece is elegant, but in a dark, gothic style if I do declare! It makes me think of something Winona Ryder’s character in Francis Ford Coppola’s Bram Stoker’s Dracula would have worn. The framed pendant has a cabochon of an engraved bouquet. I believe it is meant to look like hematite but is more of a plastic or resin that makes up the inverted cameo style piece. The necklace has a double chain as well that adds to the elaborately ornamental style. This is my second favorite selection next to the crescent earrings that Nicole and her team choose for me.
Verdict: This month’s assortment consisted of pieces that are special on their own, but when combined together make for a wildly stylish blend! I would never think to select some of the jewelry sent to me, let alone style them together—but CHC Vintage manages to send me pieces that compel me to think outside of the box. The beauty of this subscription is having such personalized pieces sent your way month after month. It truly feels like receiving a care package from an old friend! Plus, not having to hunt in the thrift bins is definitely a convenient plus. As always, I love seeing what the CHC team sends my way and I am eager to see my October box as well!
