New Subscription Box Alert: Express Style Trial Available Now!

DO NOT SIGN UP!! It’s a waste. First the clothes are not so great. It feels like you’re borrowing clothes from a friend that’s already worn it a bunch of times. You can’t even cancel like a normal subscription. You have to call their service center that’s only open for five hours in the middle of the day. It’s like they purposely make it hard for you to cancel. And they “don’t give refunds”. My new subscription would start today and they told me that refunds are a different department and that they would decide in 24hrs if I was eligible for a refund. I’m really astounded at how in this day and age you can’t click a button that says “cancel”. Don’t waste your time!!!!

I subscribed on Thursday night and received my box Sunday night! The box plus tax is around $76.

The clothes did not have that fresh brand new smell, they smelled as if they were washed with a fragrance-free soap. The clothes did not look worn at all. There were no rips, snags, or have any other wear signs.

I received a blouse retailed at $44.90, a jumpsuit retailed at $79.90 and a dress retailed at $108. But, Express is currently having a 40% off sale so the shirt is priced at $26.94, Jumpsuit $47.94, and the dress is $64.80. If I wanted to keep any of these items the shirt would cost me $26, the jumpsuit $23.50 and the dress is $32.

I did not like that my prices were similar to the online sale price especially since the items are supposedly used and I had to pay the $76 fee. I tried to cancel online but you must call customer service to do so. I understand especially since this is a trial subscription box.

I also did not like that I was sent a blouse without a bottom piece. Maybe having two blouses with a bottom piece would have been nice. or maybe even send a suggested styling card for the pieces given.

I am going to continue to use this service for the remainder of the month so I can have a complete perspective on how I personally like a clothing rental service.

I would like to say that I do like the jumpsuit and the blouse and plan on purchasing those items.

I have noticed that some items out of stock on their website is available to rent.

So far I think this subscription service is a good way to experiment with wearing clothes you wouldn’t normally wear and a good way to update your wardrobe. I say give a try for a month and see how you like it.

I really want to try out this box but at the moment it doesn’t seem worth it, since most of the pieces are basics and not statement or seasonal clothing that I’d like to try before purchasing. That being said does anyone know if they’ll be adding coats (winter) or casual jackets?

I just signed up. This is hopefully exactly what I’ve been waiting for. My weight fluctuates a ridiculous amount (I have been every size from 0 to 14 in the last 3 years). I also love clothes so I’m constantly buying new clothes. This has done a number on my budget as well as my space. Rental subscriptions are perfect for me. I am also doing Gwynnie Bee but I feel like their styles can be a little too boring for me. The Express service is actually through the same company as the Gwynnie Bee service, and they use the exact same system. They just get the clothes from Express, but they do everything else. I will report back on how it is.

Dang, it’s a rental service. I was really hoping they’d be doing a “one top, one bottom, and one accessory/bath & body item per month, yours to keep” subscription box model, with professional, party, and casual styling options. I really like the Express look, and I’m continually impressed with the quality of their clothes, so I want to buy instead of borrow!
