October 2018 FaithBox "Grace" Review
Faithbox includes “Impact Guide” a booklet that comes with an overview of the products, connect with their partners, Faithbox stories, prayer request section, and a community challenge. This month’s theme is “Grace.”
Coin Wallet – Estimated Value $15.00
This handmade beautiful designed coin purse is exclusive to Faithbox subscribers. The materials for the coin purse are non-toxic dyes and raw materials that are locally sourced. The coin purse has a tassel zipper and inside the coin purse a large compartment to put my ID in, this is the perfect size to fit in my purse. I love the teal and gold design.
Honey Oatmeal Handmade Soap - Retail Value $8.00
This handmade soap consists of goats milk, suspension soap, honey, and oats. I used as a body soap, and it's lightly scented and has exfoliating properties and its sudsy.
From Sparrow House Botanicals:
These sweet soaps will brighten your day with their subtle fragrances and gentle lather. The goat’s milk base will soften your skin while natural plants, fruits, and oatmeal provide just a bit of scrubbing to smooth and exfoliate!
Keychain Charm – Estimated Value $10.00
This keychain charm has “faith, hope, love” on one side and the other side “grace upon grace.” The keychain charm would go nicely on my backpack, purse or keychain and the message is an encouragement, as well.
For King and Country- Burn the Ships
I received a digital download of King and Country’s latest album “Burn the Ships.” The download expires 4/5/19. What a nice treat to have a Christian album sent to us. I will have to wait to download onto my phone after I get it fixed.
Rhythms of Grace: Discovering God’s Tempo for Your Life by Kerri V. Weems - Retail Value $16.99 (found here for $3.49)
The author weaves stories of her life and implements scriptures, thought-provoking questions, and times of reflection and the end of each chapter.
Burned out and exhausted, Kerri Weems discovered that keeping in step with the Holy Spirit, rather than the world's pressures, means being led, rather than driven. In Rhythms of Grace, Weems draws from her own story and Jesus's encouragement to rest as she helps readers ask:
ï How do both work and rest lead to wholeness?
ï How do I set boundaries in relationships and time?
ï Is my schedule a pacesetter or a Sabbath stealer?
ï How is rest connected with God's purpose for me?
ï What would a year of sacred rhythms look like?
Speaking to women who want to know God's peace but feel caught in busyness and fatigue, Weems gives readers the tools they need to establish sacred rhythms in their day. In the end, their schedules will reflect not worry and ambition but the true priorities of their hearts.
Faithbox Postcards
Faithbox sends postcards for their subscribers to send a note to a friend or loved one. This month I received two postcards with encouraging messages on the front. The postcards have these sayings on the front: “Grace goes further than we would go, does more than we would do, and reaches those we’d choose not to reach.” Faithbox, and “One day in God’s grace is equivalent to a thousand days of striving in your own effort.” Joseph Prince.
Spiritual Inventory
A Faithbox exclusive, a spiritual inventory for a month. The spiritual inventory has two sides, on one side of the card it has, “my verse for the month,” “spiritual practice,” and a numerical chart to circle each day that I did something for my focus for the month. And on the back of the card “pay it forward,” “list three ways God has blessed me this month,” and “where am I on my spiritual journey.”
EveryDay Faith
Each month I receive Everyday Faith, and this month is all about grace. The booklet is a monthly devotional with scriptures and quotes to guide me through the month, spiritually.
The Verdict: For$25 plus $5 shipping, the October Faithbox has an estimated value of $49.99, that’s not including the Faithbox exclusive products or the digital download. This subscription does a superb job at sending a variety of products suited for the Christian community. I enjoyed receiving the digital download and look forward to listening to it, the soap was refreshing, and the keychain charm will make a cute addition to my purse or backpack. The subscription delivered on its promise, to send devotionals, quotes, prayers, fair-trade, eco-friendly, and one-for-one products from companies who do good and have a positive impact.
