Every quarter, Merkaela sends its subscribers a package of natural body and home items centered around a seasonal theme. According to the Merkaela site, the company uses Alchemy to "activate" their products, meaning you might get additional, intangible benefits from these pretty potions!

Merkaela Winter "Embrace Stillness" Box Fall 2018 Review
Here are the info card and product list for this box. I always appreciate the guidance they give around both the theme and the individual products.
This business-card-sized affirmation is meant to be a portable reminder of the intention to hang onto this season.
Juniper Sage Salt Bath - Listed Value $18.00
Just cracking the lid of this jar and breathing in is enough to sweep me up into a world of relaxation. Seriously! The mix of chunky Mediterranean sea salt with piney juniper and fresh, earthy sage makes this blend smell like a dense forest on the edge of a rocky Pacific coastline. The label explains how these salts are made to evoke "feelings of love, peace, and knowingness" as well as energy flow and stress relief.
Merkaela Gem Bracelet - Listed Value $13.00
The blue howlite of this bracelet is supposed to encourage connection with "higher realms". I personally just like the rich turquoise color and the comfortable, cool feeling of the smooth stones against my wrist. It looks great alongside other beaded or woven bracelets.
Cypress Shea Body Butter - Listed Value $25.00
The body butters that I get via this subscription are my favorite body butters I've ever tried. This one has an amazing cypress scent that feels perfect for fall. According to the info card, cypress is also good for stimulating the circulatory system and reducing cellulite, varicose veins, and reducing muscle spasms. Huh! I'll have to put that to the test. The one benefit I've noticed thus far is that the super creamy formula, which includes shea butter, hemp, olive, jojoba, and babassu oil, vitamin E, and a slew of essential oils, makes my hands feel soft, nourished, and cushy without making them oily or residue-ish.
Earl Gray Tea Ritual, 12-14 tsp. - Listed Value $8.50
The teas from this subscription are also super awesome. How gorgeous does these blue-flecked loose-leaf tea look?! The blend includes Earl Gray, cornflower (the blue flecks you see), and natural bergamot flavoring. The aroma of this tea is incredible. It's classic Earl Gray plus a beautiful, refreshing floral punch. It's meant to be a destresser while simultaneously heightening your mental and physical alertness. Hello, new favorite morning blend.
Lavender Meditation Elixir, 2 oz. - Listed value $18.50
I've used Merkaela Meditation Elixirs for meditation, before yoga, as a way to refresh a stuffy car, to wake my brain up mid-day at the office, and as a room/linen spray. It's honestly so versatile and brings such a sense of peace to a space. This blend, in particular, is wonderful for that purpose, with its natural lavender fragrance and notes of rosemary. It also has "moon energy" listed on the ingredients label for extra introspective inspiration!
Sweetgrass Soap Bar - Listed Value $8.50
I'm in love with this sweetgrass soap. According to the info card, "sweetgrass is considered sacred by indigenous North American Native people." It's not terribly frequent that wellness boxes like this one discuss the context or cultural history behind certain sacred ingredients, so I REALLY appreciate that they mention something like that here!!! The soap is nourishing and has a beautiful, refreshing, and earthy aroma that's perfect for waking me up in the morning or relaxing me at the end of the day.
Palo Santo - Listed Value $5.50
I love the woodsy, crisp fragrance of palo santo. It's a great way to refresh the air in a space. If you've never seen it before, you essentially singe the wood and let it burn, much like you would incense. According to the info card, this palo santo is sustainably sourced and "ethically wildcrafted". I appreciate how committed this box is to sustainability!
The Verdict: I love this box SO much. It's a bit of a splurge-worthy price-point, in my opinion, but the products always impress me. It's a great treat yourself pick and would be a gorgeous present for someone interested in natural self-care or spirituality. From the presentation to the luxurious quality of these aromatherapeutic body care items, this box is an absolute delight. I can't wait to embrace the fall season with help from these natural products! Did you notice on the info card that they provide a meditation recording AND a playlist for the season, too? How cool!
