Monthly Mystery Box by Jamminbutter October 2018 Box Review

Each month, one subscriber wins a premium item instead of their typical box. This month, a Fitbit Versa Smartwatch is the prize!

Dunkin Donuts Cookies and Cream Ice Coffee - 2 x 13.7 fl. Oz. Bottles – Retail Value $2.49 each (Found here for $2.00 each)

I do love iced coffee! This one was delicious – no wonder – it’s almost 300 calories and has 41g of sugar! I only let myself have one sip of this tasty little treat – I typically try to not drink my calories, I love food too much!

GE LED 10W Soft White General Purpose, A19 Medium Base, Dimmable, 4pk Light Bulbs – Retail Value $10.97 (Found here for $8.97)

Light bulbs are always a useful product to have on hand, and soft white is my personal favorite for use in my bathrooms, where I apply makeup. These bulbs have a standard size base and will fit in most light fixtures. I love how long LEDs last as well, especially in my child’s room. I never have to worry about his light being burnt out and him being afraid of the dark.

Energizer LED Headlamp with HD+ Vision Optics, 4 modes (Batteries Included) – Retail Value $24.99 (Found here for $13.49)

OK, this is a new one for me in a subscription box. These folks want to make sure that my house is well lit! And I guess when I'm changing light bulbs this headlamp might come in handy? This little guy has 4 modes (spotlight, floodlight, combo, and night vision) and lasts 20-50 hours depending on the mode. It requires 3 AAA batteries (included) and seems like a great item to have on hand.

2 Plastic Colorful Flashing Light Up LED Shot Glasses – Estimated Retail Value $0.64 each (Similar products found here)

More lights! This time at the bottom of 2 little plastic shot glasses. They flash standard blue, green, and red – and are a fun item to throw in the bar cabinet. Or, I might give them to my kid to play with since they’re plastic.

“Make Each Day Your Masterpiece” Coloring Journal by John Wooden – Estimated Retail Value $5.99 (Similar products found here)

This book is a combined adult coloring book (8 pages) and journal (120 pages). I use these types of notebooks at work often and love the idea of the combo – in between meetings I can take my “doodling” to a new level by coloring in the coloring pages.

Twistfold Party Bowl 3 Tiers - Green –Retail Value $8.97

This is my favorite item in the box! It’s clever and something that I will definitely use when hosting cookouts and parties at my home. It’s perfect for football season – if only it was in Steeler colors!

From Fozzils:

This unique serving bowl set assembles and collapses with a simple twist.  Ideal for parties and gatherings, the set also makes an excellent fruit or snack bowl.  The partitioned top tray is perfect for dips, nuts, and candies and three tiers saves space on crowded tables.  When collapsed, the bowls are nested and held securely in place by hidden magnets.

This bowl was super easy to assemble and collapse – it took seconds and minimal force. The 3 bowls measure from small to large 7”, 9” and 11” and when closed, are secured by hidden magnets. It’s top rack dishwasher safe and BPA free.

goodcook Neatstore 8" Collapsible Strainer – Estimated Retail Value $7.99 (Similar products found here)

This is another useful, space-saving item! I only have 1 strainer and have occasionally wished that I had a backup. I like that this is silicon and has a handle to help when you are straining things from hot water and that the handle comes off should you not want to use it. It's also dishwasher safe – a necessity in my home!

The Verdict: I was happy with this month’s Monthly Mystery Box by Jamminbutter box. They make no promises – and this was my first box, so my expectations were low. I didn’t know if I’d get anything useful or if it would all be junk! I think that I can find legit uses for everything included – although, some are more practical than others. I paid $24.99 for the box but calculated about $65.17 in products. That's over 2x the value of the box, which I think is great!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? There's no telling which random items you'll get inside this box, even if you sign up today. Subscribe now to get your own box of surprises!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $24.99 + free shipping, which means that each of the 9 items in the box has an average cost of $2.78.

I would be so happy to get light bulbs! I actually had a light bulb emergency in the middle of the night and luckily had the freebie that came from FabFitFun. Now if sub boxes could just include random sized batteries I would be all set.

Haha so true!

Those headlamps are a good thing to keep in your auto emergency kit. If you break down at night you might need both of your hands, and you still have light.

That’s cool that Dollar Tree has a subscription box…

I love the idea of the green party bowl – but I’d use it as an all-the-time catchall for keys, wallet, watch, and items like that. That would work well on my dresser. Thank you for the review, Colette, and the link to their website! Seems like a solid month in terms of usability. I’d asterisk the price of the headlamp, since one can buy a good one at Walmart for $10.

Yes, agree!

That is a great idea to use the party bowl as a catchall, Dea. I decided to order one from Amazon for that purpose.

Overall, this month’s Monthly Mystery Box seems pretty good. Much better than all of the Royal Sport stuff they were throwing out for the past few months.

You received quite a varied assortment of products. I like that more than half of the items in your box are practical items that you can get use out of such as the collapsible collander, the light bulbs and the twisty bowls.
