Our Review
Āether Beauty Rose Quartz Single Eyeshadow - Retail Value $14.00
I am normally cranky about receiving single eyeshadows like this since I don't have a magnetic palette, but I was immediately charmed by this rose quartz shade. It looks amazing on my lids and can be built upon or mixed with other colors for dimension. It's made with organic coconut oil and organic shea butter, along with organic rosehip oil and actual Rose Quartz powder! Very cool! Shimmery metallics aren't usually my bag, but I just love this one!
Rustic Maka Luna Bliss Deodorant - Retail Value $11.00
I for some reason cannot get enough natural deodorant and it's also EVERYWHERE in my Instagram ads. I bought one on my own that didn't seem to work all that well and received a couple more in other sub boxes as well. After a few days of using this charcoal number, I have to say that it's been working surprisingly well! I know they all say that, but this one seems to be delivering. While some are really dry and make it hard to apply, this one has stayed more moist, making it easier to spread under my arms. It has a pleasant scent and has kept me stink-free.
River Organics Rose Gold Vegan Lip Balm - Retail Value $11.99
How gorgeous is this little balm? I always love seeing recycled or biodegradable materials in beauty product packaging and this one is made with a simple cardboard that you push up from the bottom to expose more balm. While I love a bold matte lipstick, there are days I want a softer lip and this is the PERFECT tint for me. It's super moisturizing and has the most subtle rose tint to it to give my pout a lil boost of soft color. I've been toting this one around in my bag and grab for it when I'm wearing no makeup at all or something super minimal. Truly a new go-to balm.
Pura Botanicals Neroli Eye Ritual, 0.3 oz. - Retail Value $48.00
I've been receiving some eye serums lately in boxes so I think it's time again for me to give them a whirl. This one comes in a really convenient roller so you can easily apply it around your eye and then lightly dab it in. It smells really wonderful with the rosehip and lavender ingredients (along with aloe vera) shining through. The list of benefits is pretty impressive:
Gentle neroli helps diminish the look of under-eye circles, increases collagen production and tightens the skin. Jojoba oil is rich in Vitamins A & E and revitalizes dehydrated skin. Aloe vera helps to soothe the skin with natural nutrients and antioxidants. It also reduces puffiness with anti-inflammatory and cooling properties. Skin-brightening rosehip helps prevent free-radical damage, responsible for skin aging.
This full-size roller alone covers a huge portion of the cost of the box, so I'll be holding on to this and using it nightly as suggested.
Om Mushrooms Beauty - Retail Value $24.99
This is a really cool product to see in a beauty box. I haven't even used a mushroom powder supplement before but am eager to get my skin glowing from the inside since I'm always so focused from the outside. The blend of king trumpet, turkey tail, cordyceps militaris, reishi, agaricus blazei, lion’s mane, Antrodia camphorata and maitake mycelial biomass powder cultured on organic oats are supposed to boost shine for hair, glowing skin, and strong nails: all of which I need! There are 50 servings in this pack but their site suggests doubling the 1 teaspoon daily dose for the first 3 weeks to "accelerate" the results. It can be put into almost any drink (tea, coffee, smoothie) or even recipes (like a soup). Stoked to see if this makes a difference!
Osea Sea Vitamin Boost - Retail Value $16.00
I love the idea of spraying vitamins directly onto my face throughout the day. While this can be used at any point, I've been using it in the morning after cleansing and it really does feel nice when I do so. I do need to try it as a makeup setting spray as well though. It's packed with antioxidant-rich organic algae, resveratrol, and pomegranate and gives my face a fresh tingle. Even though this is a "travel size" bottle it's sure to last me quite a while or I can pop it into my travel bag for when I need a smaller bottle on a trip.
CreekBaby Sea Salt Spray - Retail Value $16.99
Salt sprays are something I've always equated with women who have thick curly hair. I have thin-bone straight hair and tend to shy away from using any products at all that could potentially weigh it down. I used this spray that is nothing more than spring water and dead sea salt in damp hair after washing and didn't really notice a difference for better or worse. It didn't weigh it down but I don't think it added anything either. I'll probably pass this on to a friend but love the bottle and how large of a portion they sent.
Here are swatches for the barely visible rose gold lip balm and the rose quartz eyeshadow.
Verdict: My first Organic Bunny Box was really a wonderful experience! While I have used my fair share of natural and non-toxic skin care, I haven't dived fully into makeup and other beauty products yet. I love that they include only larger sizes and guarantee you won't get foil/sample sizes unless they're a bonus. I loved seeing Osea in this box and was also delighted by the charcoal natural deodorant and eyeshadow. The lip balm is turning out to be a real fave and I'm excited to try the mushroom powder in my next smoothie. My favorite part is the plethora of varying products from makeup to skincare to haircare to food. There's a little bit of something for everyone in this box! All of the products included this month add up to a whopping $142.97!
