October 2018 POP In A Box Review
My October shipment featured 5 different franchises!
Dennis Nedry POP
Let's start with one of my favorite POPs - Dennis Nedry.
I like this little sculpt of Nedry - especially for the Barbasol can. But, this is somewhat of a duplicate for me because I own this incredible set - it might be one of my favorite two-pack POPs ever!
For the Jurassic Park line - I thought the dinosaurs were a bit weak in terms of POP sculpt, it may have been a bigger draw had they been 6-inch POPs.
Mike Hanlon
The only franchise where I received two POPs was from IT - and I have no complaints about that!
I had two members of the Loser's Club left - and this month helped me complete that set! First is Mike - complete with his little cattle gun.
I'm actually surprised there haven't been more Pennywise variants!
Ben Hanscom
Finally, there is Ben.
Ben comes with the egg from the library scene of the movie!
Negasonic Teenage Warhead
There are a few things I didn't know about this character. First, she was named after a Monster Magnet song, and second, her powers were completely changed for the Deadpool movie franchise (I didn't know anything about her before the movies).
This looks to be the comic version of the character, who has powers similar to Emma Frost.
This line is actually kind of cool - all of these characters appear in Deadpool 2 - but these sculpts are actually of the comic versions.
Ghost
I wasn't super drawn into this character in Ant-Man and The Wasp - but I DID love the costume.
Funko captured the coolness of the character's costume, too - so this immediately becomes one of my favorite POPs.
There aren't a lot of offers from this line, surprisingly.
T'Challa
Ah yes - T'Challa in the white suit!
Naturally, it's a basic look - but the character definitely has a basic look in this outfit.
There is a decent amount to collect in this line - and I think it could grow and grow.
Verdict: While it didn't have the excitment of a POP Ride this month, I was happy to have 5 different franchises represented here - especially since I'm very into all 5!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? There are no monthly themes and the POPs are a mystery, so your box will be different than what I receive. Your subscription also starts at the time of order.
