The BAM! Horror Anniversary Box Review
This month features items from Universal Classic Monsters, American Horror Story: Hotel, They Live, and Halloween.
BAM! Box Exclusive Universal Classic Monsters Fan Art Pins by Artist @dirtygirlpinco
I am a fan of old Universal Monster films, so I was excited to see good Ol’ Count Dracula included in this month’s box. It would be a lie if I said I wasn’t hoping to receive the Wolfman or Frankenstein’s Monster, but honestly, any of these variants are a gem to possess! As always, the back has two pins with the rubber clasps to keep your enamel pin in place. This will look great on a jean jacket for the Halloween season!
BAM! Box Exclusive “Michael” Fan Art Collection Art Print by Artist, Lab Creature
IT’S MY BOY—MICHAEL MYERS aka THE SHAPE aka THE BOOGEYMAN! With the new Halloween movie being released, it is no surprise that this Michael Myers print was included in the September box. No complaints here since I am a huge fan! I received the broader released variant, but honestly, I prefer the colored print to the grey scale one with blood splatter accents. Both are wonderful, but orange is my favorite color so I am rather partial to the print I received! Much like Michael himself, this print is killing it!
BAM! Box Peter Jason “Gilbert” They Live Signing
They Live, like so many horror movies (ie Night of the Living Dead), is a modern day fable that provides amazing insight into societal and political issues. The movie is well done and a timeless classic. If you haven’t seen it: hop to it and buy it. I urge you not to rent it because it is crucial to own! If you have seen it--- well, treat yourself to another viewing! This They Live 8x10 is signed by none other than Peter Jason aka Gilbert. This is a great collectible for any mega fan of the film!
American Horror Story Hotel Cortez Room Key by Dark Matter Props
Finally, we have one of the coolest props in a BAM! Horror box yet—a Room 64 key from the Hotel Cortez from AHS! Much like The Shining’s room 217, room 64 at the Hotel Cortez is to be avoided at all costs! This key is made of a shellacked brass and has a shiny blood red tassel tied to the fantastic art deco themed key ring. This is a fantastic item for fans of American Horror Story!
Verdict: The Anniversary BAM! Horror Box was on fire! I loved the cult movie and tv shows that were involved with this month’s box! I appreciated and greatly enjoyed every single piece. My top two items is the Michael Myers print and the Hotel Cortez key. This is definitely an improvement from the August selections I received. September has me recharged and I am incredibly excited to see what the October box has in store for Halloween goodies!
