October 2018 Vinyl Me, Please Review
The October 2018 Vinyl Me, Please Subscription Box features the album For The Sake Of The Song from Townes Van Zandt.
Vinyl Me, Please has condensed their presentation entirely into the LP - which I think has been a great transition. You'll now get the album information along with the drink mix right on the sleeve of your gatefold.
It's also accompanied by an LP-size piece of artwork. This month's artwork comes from Abbey Lossing.
Townes Van Zandt - For The Sake Of The Song
This month's Essential album is a remaster, 50th-anniversary edition of For The Sake Of The Song.
While it looks like a basic black vinyl pressing - it's this awesome translucent vinyl!
It comes with an exclusive booklet featuring a bit about Townes Van Zandt - but it's also mostly about the creation of this album.
It's a beautiful booklet - I love that VMP does this kind of thing! Overall, that album is a classic - but a classic that I haven't sat down and listened to - so I enjoyed giving this one a spin!
Verdict: This month's pressing wasn't as exciting for me as the past few months - but that's ok, I still really enjoyed sitting down and spinning this one! Overall, Vinyl Me, Please always knocks it out of the park with their pressings, booklets, and even the gatefolds - it always feels high-quality and there is apparent though put into each one.
