J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Crate September 2018 Review - Back To Hogwarts

The latest installment from Wizarding World takes us 'Back To Hogwarts' with house-specific goods.

Each month arrives with an information card that details the items in your box.

They also sent a note about the missing pin - but, only a few days later...

The pin arrived!

Hedwig Pin - $5-10

It looks like we've now moved to a new pin series - and I must say that I like this design.

Hogwarts House Bookbag - Value $20-25?

There was no t-shirt this month, instead you get a new item for the first box since Back To School came around - a house-specific backpack.

It features the crest of the house you've chosen in the sign-up process.

It has a few little pockets to store things outside of the larger area.

The size is pretty decent - this closer and folds shut until you can clasp it.

Hogwarts House Banner - Value $15-20?

If you're really looking to show your house pride, you can get the job done with this large banner!

It feels like a nice, high-quality, material - again, it was specific to the house in your sign-up process.

You'll find two eyelets at the top to let your banner fly.

Hogwarts House Bookmark - Value $10-15?

What perfect way to mark your progress in the Harry Potter series than with this house-specific bookmark. It's a die-cut metal pendant - and the tassel can double as a way to hang this on display when not in use.

Hogwarts House Notebook - Value $10-15?

This box finishes off with a house-specific notebook - and features the crest animal all over!

I really love the binding design - the paper isn't ruled but does have the crest front and center.

Verdict: This delivery seemed pretty useful for back to school - and while I miss seeing a wearable in this box, I still think they did pretty well on house-specific items - the items just weren't too useful for me.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. This was an older theme – the current theme can be found on the landing page!

I started using the book bag immediately; it’s great quality and totally made this crate for me. I didn’t mind not having a wearable as I have way too many t-shirts already. The notebook’s a bit ‘meh’, to be honest. We’ve had a few notebooks and I didn’t think this was the best.

Overall, this crate has almost renewed my confidence in the series to continue my subscription. Almost.

Warning to everyone out there…the bookmark tassel will fall apart if you actually use it to mark books.
