BookCase.Club for Kids October 2018 Review
You're My Little Chickadee by Sandra Magsamen - Retail Value $7.99 (found here for $7.48)
This book is super cute and I love that it has the soft chick feathers at the top for kids to grab and play with, but we did just receive a very similar turkey book
Five Little Elves by Dan Yaccarino - Retail Value $6.99
My kiddos, my two-year-old especially, love the rhyme Five Little Pumpkins and this is a little twist on that classic rhyme. Instead of pumpkins, we have five little elves getting ready for the holidays. This was a fun book to read and I loved the simplistic use of color throughout this book. This will be a great addition to the books I bring out every year around Christmastime!
The Three Little Pigs by Nat Lambert- Retail Value $15.99 (I couldn't find this version, but I linked to a fun one that features press-out pieces!)
Although my subscription is set up for board books for a newborn - 2-year-old, sometimes, for some reason, we receive something other than that. It's not consistent, but this month we received this picture book which is definitely meant for a slightly older audience. We did really enjoy reading this book, it's a very classic version of the Three Little Pigs, but what I really liked was that it italicized and bolded the speaking parts. This will be great for teaching my daughter about quotations and speaking parts one day and it also made it fun to read it and act it out for the kids!
Verdict: I enjoyed the books we received from BookCase.Club this month, although they were sort of all over the place with the themes and styles. I usually enjoy the books that we receive and since I have three kids, it's never usually a problem when they send us a book meant for an older audience, especially given that we are starting with the lowest age group, but if you definitely want only books for your chosen age group then this might not be the best option for you! The books themselves were great and the total value of the books came to $30.97 which is over twice the $14.99 ($9.99 + $5.00 shipping) cost of the subscription and since I have three kids of different ages it is definitely worth it to us.
