BoxyCharm Subscription Box Review – November 2018

I got the same exact box as Liz. This was my first Boxycharm box that I’ve received, and I’m happy about everything I received. I’m more excited about this box than I am about my Ipsy bag this month.

I got almost the exact box in the picture except I received the tweezers and a lip product. At least I didn’t get the eye lashes. Love that I got the brush cleaner and brushes.

I got the brush cleaner and the tweezers!!! Woo hoo! And my Summers Eve Box also arrived today. I can’t believe it wasn’t repeats of anything and I’ve been a subscriber for 18 months.

I got lashes and eyeliner, which were the two I didn’t want. My mom got the brush cleaner and tweezers. I managed to get her to trade the eyeliner for brush cleanser but no go for the tweezers so I’ll have to buy my own lol. This was a great box, I just got unlucky with the variation because I don’t wear lashes.

Does anyone know why our Charms have decreased from 250 in April to 100 in July and now from July to present it’s only 50 charms per review.

Got my Summer’s Eve boxy – it was 100% last month’s box. Glad i cancelled last month since I got it for $4 from the promo.

Forgot to ask in my earlier comment, how everyone uses the Cover FX drops and is the happiest with those. I have so many various colors and duplicates, just sitting unopened, because I’m a little worried about looking like the lady from Goldfinger. Plus, I’m so fair and prefer a matte finish. Many of the drops would show up on my fair skin as a color. I know that people put a few drops in their makeup or primer, maybe an eye shadow or lip topper, maybe? I’m just trying to figure out what to do with the gallons of this stuff. It started out as cute little dropper bottles, but those are multiplying into vats and vats of shimmering and shining liquids that one day will catch the sun just right in my window and bring down a jet plane.

When I used to get Sephora Play!, I knew which variation, but how do I know about BoxyCharm? I noticed on the enclosed item chart that there was #3 plus a heart next to it, so I’m assuming I received variation 3. Obviously, I didn’t know until I received it. My box included:

The gorgeous Ace Shadow, obviously, in all
Four Luxie eye shadow brushes, obviously, in all
Cover FX Drops in Nova, obviously, in all
The Jontbleu eye liner in black with silver glitter as a variant
The Lash a Holic false lashes as a variant

While I have never used false lashes on my own, other than when put on by a MUA for an event, these look EXTREMELY beautiful. I have plenty, plenty, plenty (haha) of high-end lashes and these actually look…dimensional, for lack of a better word. I would have gotten more use out of the brush cleaner since I have so many brushes, from the ones in boxes, to Wayne Goss, Kevyn Aucoin, and Hakuhodo that I must be very careful with, but I kind of like this set of lashes more than the usual false lashes.

Looking forward to BoxyLuxe next month, and definitely more spoilers! Hope everyone enjoys their box this month. The eye shadow palette is so much prettier in person than I expected. One of the shadows could be used as a highlighter and one could be used as a blush, if one was traveling and wanted to travel lightly, I think.

I’m looking forward to the eyeshadow palette and the brushes after that I’m not sure . I never got a spoiler email just one saying it’s on it’s way …um ok 😁really don’t want lashes, don’t wear them .they will literally collect dust with the others. And the drops are beautiful but a little scary lol I don’t wanna look like a sparkly vampire . And i think I’ll cry if I get another eyeliner. I have enough eyeliners to last me until the end of time . I’m hoping for the best since ipsy plus kinda disappointed me this month

Hi All- Not sure if anyone will read this as this post is from a few days ago but I just received my Summers Eve Boxy Charm promotion. For anyone wondering it’s not this box that’s listed above. I received:

1. a set of 3 eye makeup brushes.
2. eyeshadow primer base
3. liquid lipid in this ugly metallic color
4. creamy highlighter in two pretty colors
5. eyeshadow palette in dark brown, black, tan metallic and white/cream. The colors look more for brows but it says eyeshadow.

I received my November Box today, it is variant number #3 Very disappointed that they keep sending me false lashes, will never use them!!! I have three pairs of them now! Loved the palette, please, Boxycharm, no more false eyelashes!!

My only complaint with the black glitter eyeliner, it transfers 😩 I used it to do a wing and not even 5 minutes later it transferred to my crease. Thankfully I had a cherry smoky eye theme going on that it didn’t show up super black but it sucked. I tried setting it with setting powder and I knew it would dull the intensity of the black but somehow it still managed to get in my crease again. I’m going to play around with this eyeliner and see if I can figure out a way to keep it from doing that but also being able to see the glitter. I’d hate to set it with black eyeshadow or even have to run over a liquid eyeliner just so it stays put because what’s the use of having a cute and cool glitter eyeliner if I’m just going to put something over it to keep it from transferring… mind as well just use my own non transferring eyeliner and add glitter over top of it.

I was so excited about the brush cleaner and the tweezers in this month’s box! So of course I got the eyeliner and the lashes. :/

I’ve never worn fake lashes a day in my life, yet I have a drawer full of them. I put them up for swap, and no one ever wants any of them. Such a waste of money…

Then today I received an email about my spoiler and the box I got were different and that I still will be receiving the box they chose specifically for me. My spoiler had the brush cleaner and something else but wouldn’t show and I clearly didn’t get that. I guess I’m getting another box 😳 so weird.

Just received an email from Boxycharm (after my box is already in transit -only my second box) that they made a “mistake”…palette, brushes and glitter drops are still coming…sounds like they must have run out of lashes, tweezers and brush cleaner? Anyone get a box with something else in it, not shown? Excited, just curious what else might be coming!

Anyone else receive an e-mail saying that they teased the wrong products?

I wouldn’t mind getting the brush cleaner, I can always use more.

Rather get the eyeliner than the lashes.

Sigh. I got the lashes. Again. I can’t wear false lashes. Does anyone not want their brush cleaner or tweezers and would like to to trade?

Got my box today and did a Happy Dance since I got the tweezers and the brush cleaner! My daughter needed tweezers the last time I visited her, so I gave her the ones I traveled with and then my husband claimed my very sharp Sephora tweezers to use for pulling out splinters. Brush cleaner is always a plus, since I have so many brushes thanks to all my beauty box subscriptions and my addiction to the Pretty red handled Hakuhodo brushes. I have a lifetime supply of palettes, and lately have pretty much just been using the Alomar Palette, but This one looks really nice! Thanks Boxycharm!

Man, all I wanted was the frigging tweezers. My spoiler looked like the spray and a box. I ended up with lashes and the eyeliner. Dang it.

Has anyone got their free box yet from Summer’s Eve? I didn’t get tracking but I got it today!

Got my box today. Variant 3. Lashes, palette, brushes, glitter drops, and glittery black eyeliner. My daughter just started theatre, so she can make use of the lashes. (thanks to Allure for including glue a while back). Not sure about the glitter in the black eyeliner, but I will give it a shot. Brushes will be passed along as a gift. Love that palette. No clue what will become of the glitter drops. Probably let my daughter find a use for that, too. Overall, really happy with the box. Sometimes, I love everything in the box, sometimes, it’s fun to be the cool mom or aunt who passes along some subscription box goodies.

These boxes are so visually pleasing that it can be distracting as to whether I will actually use the products or not. I cancelled last month, then when I saw the spoilers I thought “shoot maybe I shouldn’t have cancelled!” Then, I broke down each item as a hard no or yes whether I would use it- and I found I would only be Interested in the brush cleaner and possibly the brushes, and I already have so many brushes. So In the end I am still glad I cancelled

I’m scrolling through the comments and noticed a few people mentioned “spoiler.” Did boxy continue their trend with finding out which variant item you’d be getting?
Weird, I usually get those emails and I haven’t gotten one. But my box is due to arrive today, so I guess I’ll be surprised

I am going crazy here! I haven’t yet received the spoiler alert or even a shipping notification! I swear I usually have my box, or at least it’s almost on it’s way by now! I would LOVE the tweezers, but would be happy with the eyeliner! I just do not want those lashes!

Dear subscription boxes,

I’m not 5 so I don’t like glitter. I don’t want to be a unicorn either. I need: setting powders, setting sprays and nude or pink ( not dark brown or fuschia) lipsticks. Also, I have enough eye liners, makeup brushes and red lipsticks to last a lifetime. Nobody I know sparkles like a disco ball or wears red eyeshadow, so please get real.
