Crescent City Swoon Subscription Box October 2018 Review
This box does not come with an info sheet, but we did get a business card with more information about Crescent City Swoon.
We also received a few cute Halloween-themed extras like these small notepads and mini tootsie roll pops.
Candy Coffin Bath Bomb, 7 oz – Listed Value $7.95
This is a BIG bath bomb, and I love the creativity of adding the salt to the top of the coffin—it really gives off a crystalized look. This has notes of brown sugar and fig that was a sweet and relaxing combination, and it turned my bath water a shade of purple mauve.
Count St. Germain’s Mystery Gumbo Bath Bomb, 5 oz – Listed Value $7.95
I love the Louisiana twist on this cauldron bath bomb! Gumbo is so popular here that it could be its own food group, and I loved that my mystery gumbo had gorgeous streams of pinks and purples. This bath bomb didn’t have a definitive scent nor a scent description, but I thought it smelled sweet with a hint of spice.
Once my gumbo cauldron was almost empty I was greeted with a surprise spider ring! I thought that was fun and playful.
Gris Gris Bath Bomb, 4 oz – Listed Value $6.95
Yay for more Louisiana flair! Gris gris is a voodoo talisman that is supposed to bring the wearer good luck. This bath bomb had a spicy scent of bergamot, orange, jasmine, vetiver, and patchouli, and this was a fizzer! Unfortunately, all of the black did stain my tub, but it did clean up easily.
Zombie Donut Bath Bomb, 6 oz – Retail Value $7.95
This was the most hydrating bath bomb in the bunch because it was coated in cocoa butter! This made my bath water a fun orange color that was essentially impossible to photograph with my less than stellar bathroom lighting, but I loved how silky my legs felt after soaking. This had a toasted marshmallow scent that I found to be really pleasant.
Spooky Cute Bubbling Bath Truffle, 3 oz – Buy a 4 pack of 1.5 oz truffles for $9.95 here
This 3 oz bubble truffle is on the larger size of bath truffles, but that is perfect to me because it means I can use this for two baths! Not only does this truffle give you a good mound of bubbles, but it is also made with cocoa and shea butter to hydrate your skin. I thought the scent was sweet with a hint of spice.
The Verdict: Crescent City's Swoon Subscription Box was such a fun, creative bath box to receive! I love the attention to detail I saw in every single bath product, and I also appreciate the unique themes of the bath bombs. Though the items are not available for sale online, I would say with the cost of the box plus shipping, you are breaking even on the value. If you appreciate supporting small brands that send high-quality, small-batch bath products than I think you will really enjoy the crescent city swoon experience.
