October 2018 Fair Trade Friday Earring of the Month Review

There was no literature in my package this month! They usually send little business cards with information about Fair Trade
Friday and about Mercy House Kenya, Fair Trade Friday's parent organization.

Short Tassel Earrings by Have Hope, Kenya - Retail Value $12

Maybe I am getting spoiled, but this is the first time I think I have ever been really disappointed by my package from Fair Trade Friday earring of the Month Club. I have subscribed for many years, and there have certainly been styles I liked more than others, but I have never really felt bummed like I do now. The earrings' value is below the cost of the package, for one thing, but the other thing is that I am over the threaded tassels jewelry trend. Fair Trade Friday sent these same earrings in their general box a month or so ago, except in gray. I'm just not into them. Maybe other people are, and that's okay. I have received so many beautiful pairs of earrings from Fair Trade Friday in the past, pretty consistently. I hope next month is better.

The Verdict: I am loving my subscription to the Fair Trade Friday Earring OTM Club, but for the first time ever this month was kind of a let-down. I still really like the charitable giving aspect of this subscription, and usually the value is really good, too. Just
not this time. Here's hoping next month is better!

Could you cut off all the yard and be left with a simple diamond shape?

That’s exactly what I was going to say! Actually, I would leave a little bit of the tassel for interest, but cut off most of it. Either that or convert them into purse charms; it might look cute hanging on a black handbag,
