Our Review
I received my own card from Handmade Happy where I was introduced and welcomed to the subscription and this month’s theme: John Lennon and Peace and Spreading Love. It is a beautiful card and I was really happy to receive one especially for me. This is my first box so I am not sure if every box includes a handwritten card. I am looking forward to future boxes to see!
Peace Love and Happiness on Your Birthday
This card is beautifully crafted and so colorful; I just love the way the colors fade into each other. “Peace Love and Happiness” is printed over the colorful background and is raised; it feels like its embossed. “On your birthday” is also is an additional piece added to the front of the card. This card, like all the others, is made of a very thick cardstock. The inside of the card has an additional, smaller piece of cardstock glued on the right side for your message giving the card a very formal look.
Believe All Things Are Possible Greeting Card
This is one of the sentimental cards I received in my box. The floral background is cardstock added to the front of the card. “Believe” is a piece of translucent ribbon-like paper that is wrapped around the floral background. “All things are possible” are added pieces on top of the ribbon. I am really loving the look of these handmade cards!
Faith. Hope. Love. The Greatest of these is Love.
This is such a pretty card. I love the way “love” is designed and really love the silver and purple colors. All of the words are added designs to the card, “love” being raised the most. The silver dots looked like beads or pearls, but upon closer inspection feel and look like dried metallic glue. One of the dots ran a little, but it doesn’t take away the beauty of this card.
So Thankful For You This November & Always Happy Birthday
If I had to choose a card I liked least, this would be it. While I really liked the background floral design with the gold-glitter tracing, I don’t like the ribbon or the message. I sorta wish it just said So Thankful For You This November or just Happy Birthday. I am sure the person I send it to, though, will love it.
All You Need Is Love Card
I think this was my favorite in the pack, my favorite part is the record (which doesn’t spin by the way, I did try). I also like the little bit of flowers in the background and the metallic silver accents to the middle of the flowers.
This was the back of every card; stamped with the Handmade Happy seal and their social media info.
Five Stamps
Every subscription comes with envelopes and 5 first class stamps. This was a big deal for me – I subscribe to multiple cards and letter subscription boxes and this is the only one that I receive that includes stamps! And THESE stamps are so groovy – I even went and bought more online.
I really liked the back of the stamps too, a great image of John Lennon recording. I cannot wait to see what the entire page of stamps looks like.
Verdict: This was my first time receiving Handmade Happy and as soon as I opened the box, I was immediately pleased. The cards are beautiful, and while they are handmade they are original and so well crafted. I am really looking forward to future cards!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you subscribe today? No, you will receive the December box.
Value Breakdown: This subscription is $24.99 with free US shipping and comes with 5 cards, envelopes, and 5 first class stamps. While I didn’t see a spot where they sold individual cards online to get an exact value, each card is handmade and that alone is full of value. Counting the card, envelope and stamp as one, each set has an approximate cost of $5.
