November 2018 Loved + Blessed “Purpose” Review

Loved + Blessed “Purpose” November 2018 - Theme Card

Each box includes a theme card on the inside of the front lid of the box. This month’s theme is “Purpose” and is all about discovering and living in the purpose that God has for your life. This card further describes the theme and is intended to be a keepsake and serve as a visual reminder to live your life with purpose.

Loved + Blessed “Purpose” November 2018 - Information card FrontLoved + Blessed “Purpose” November 2018 - Information Card Back

The information card describes the items in this month’s box and their intended purpose. It also encourages you to read more on the Loved + Blessed blog. The back of the card invites you to join live discussions every Thursday in the private Facebook group. It also highlights the charitable cause supported this month.

Loved + Blessed “Purpose” November 2018 - Mini Poster – Live with Purpose FrontLoved + Blessed “Purpose” November 2018 Mini Poster – Live with Purpose Back

Mini Poster – Live with Purpose

In line with the theme of the box, this mini poster encourages you to live your life with purpose. One of my favorite Bible verses is printed on the back of the mini poster. When referencing Romans 8:28, I’ve always focused on “all things work together for the good of those that love the Lord” and never focused on “to those who are called according to His purpose”. This offers me a new perspective to a well-known and often cited scripture. I’ll pin this mini poster to my inspiration board.

Loved + Blessed “Purpose” November 2018 - Reminder Sticker – You yes, you MATTER

Reminder Sticker – You yes, you MATTER

If you believe that God has a purpose created specifically for you that only you can do, then it should hold true that you matter. This sticker is a reminder that yes, you do matter. I find this statement encouraging but I honestly don’t know what to do with the sticker.

Reminder Gift – Tea Towels

This month’s reminder gift is a set of tea towels. One tea towel is printed with various kitchen and food items. The other towel contains scripture – Joshua 24:15 which is another often cited biblical verse. The info card describes the many purposes tea towels have served since the 18th century. Loved + Blessed wants you to “Let the teas towels remind you to never throw in the towel and never give up on living out God’s purpose for your life.”

Loved + Blessed “Purpose” November 2018 - Encouragement Kit – Prayer Cards Set 1Loved + Blessed “Purpose” November 2018 - Encouragement Kit – Prayer Cards Set 2

Encouragement Kit – 2 Sets of Prayer Cards

Encouragement kits are meant to be shared to pass along encouragement to others. This month, two sets of prayer cards are included – one to keep and one to share. They offer a specific prayer for each room in your house. At the front door, we thank God for having a living space of our own. In the bedroom, we pray that it be a place of rest. And, in the kitchen, we give thanks for every meal we eat. These prayers cards are my favorite.

Loved + Blessed “Purpose” November 2018 - Scripture Card – Esther 414 FrontLoved + Blessed “Purpose” November 2018 - Scripture Card – Esther 414 Back

Scripture Card – Esther 4:14

Esther 4:14 is cited on this month’s scripture card. To be honest, I have no idea what it means and how it relates to this month’s theme. But, I look forward to studying the verse, diving into this month’s workbook and discussing with other Loved + Blessed women in the private Facebook group.

Monthly Blog Post and Workbook

Each box includes a card (not pictured) that contains the information and password for accessing the monthly blog and workbook. The members-only content includes access to a library of resources, special events, and private sales. The blog further delves into the month’s theme and the workbook is truly impressive. There is a lesson along with journaling prompts and activities for each week. I find a lot of value in this member exclusive content.

Private Facebook Group – Loved and Blessed Ladies

The private Facebook group offers a space to connect with other Loved + Blessed subscribers for fellowship and discussion. Hopefully, I'll be able to catch one of the live sessions in the upcoming weeks.

Verdict: This is my first Loved + Blessed box and it met my expectation based on reviewing their online content and previous reviews. I appreciate the vision behind this box. It’s important to focus on spiritual self-care just as you would physical, emotional and mental health. This box fills that gap for me. I appreciate that the theme is reflected throughout all the materials in the box and that it provides you with a spiritual toolkit to carry along with you each month. A folder or pouch to carry the printed materials would be a nice addition. This box cost $19.99 with free shipping making it a fairly inexpensive box. I found so much value in the printed material included in the box and the member exclusive online content. My favorites where the prayer cards and online workbook. I definitely think this box is worth the price.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, order by the 21st of each month to get the next month’s box. If you sign up today, you will receive the December box.

In response to Esther 4:14: Do you remember that big church that didn’t immediately open their doors to victims of hurricane Harvey because they hadn’t been asked, but many criticized them because they were this giant church with plenty of space and the whole point of a church is to provide shelter? People were still getting help from other places, but this church would have been easier for people to get to. To me, that whole incident is a perfect example of Ester 4:14.

I do remember that! Lots of controversy. Thank you for the comment. I can’t wait to learn more.

Tamar

The books of Esther are from the apocrypha and tell the story of the Jewish holiday of Purim (I think there are 2 books of Esther – basically the telling of the same story from different authors and perspectives). The story of Purim is the story of Jews in Persia. The king has an advisor, Haman, who is evil and power hungry. Through a series of events a Jewish woman named Esther marries the king. When Haman tries to make all the people bow down to him, a Jew named Mordecai who is related to Esther refuses to do so and Haman gets permission to kill all of the Jews in Persia. Mordecai asks Esther to intervene with the king and she does so reluctantly, afraid that the king will kill her. He doesn’t, the Jewish people are saved, and Haman is killed.

Without looking it up, I’m sure this passage is Mordecai asking Esther to intervene with the king and he must say this to her when she expresses reluctance to go before the king. If the theme is “purpose” it makes sense – he’s trying to convince her that she was made queen just for the purpose of being able to save her people so she must do it even though it’s dangerous to her.
