My Fashion Crate November 2018 Review

They always include an insert with descriptions of the items and their value. The front side lists everything you will receive in the Essentials box while the back also shows what you get in the Premium box and they include pictures which I always appreciate.

Romantic Mocha Grey Blouse by Grifflin Paris, Size L - Listed Value $50

I was really intrigued by this shirt when I first saw it and I love the mix of colors and fabrics, but I can't help feeling that it's too short on me. In the first photo I paired it with a basic olive tee, but then I switched to just a black cami so you could see the details of the shirt hem better. It comes up quite a bit on the sides and I could never quite get the hemline to lay right. Is it too small on me or do you think I can still make it work? In the model photo from the card, it looks like she doesn't need a shirt underneath but since that won't work for me, what color cami do you think would work for this?

Here is a closeup so you can see the various colors, textures, and patterns. It's unique and fun to me, so I hope I can find a way to style it!

Lace Tie Headband by Headbands of Hope, One Size - Retail Value $16.85

How pretty is this headband? I love the delicate lace and the soft chiffon fabric to tie it with. It lists it as being a soft pink, but I would definitely consider it more of a nude/camel color. I think it's a nice fall accessory although I haven't figured out how to style this one yet either since the band is very wide and flares up a bit when I tie it on. I think folding it in half will solve that problem though! I love that I can tie it to fit my head perfectly and that I have the option to leave the chiffon ends dangling if I want more of a classic look!

The absolute best part of this headband is that every headband sold means that they will give one to a child with cancer. Read more about this sweet cause here!

I Am Priceless Bracelet by MaeMae Jewelry - Retail Value $16

This handmade bracelet is so simple and a great fall accessory with the burnt orange nylon cord and the tiny 14k gold filled bead. I love that this is an item with meaning behind it to remind you that you are priceless and loved. It's such a nice sentiment and the casual style makes it perfect for everyday wear. The bracelet stretches open to fit your wrist and then you tighten it by pulling the ends of the cord. It just barely stretched over my hand though, so if you have larger hands or wrists, this might not fit, however, it is wrapped very nicely and would make a great gift for someone else that you might want to send positive vibes to!

Washable Travel Bag by Related Garments - Retail Value $12

I love when they include the fashion item that you didn't know you needed in this box! In this case, it's just a simple travel washable garment bag with no frills, but so practical and useful! We always end up using the free flimsy plastic dry cleaning bags for dirty laundry when we stay in a hotel and it always ends up ripped by the time we get back home, but this bag is just a bit bigger than those and is much sturdier so I'll be sure to bring it on our next trip. It will also make a great bag for washing undergarments or those forever-disappearing socks in.

They included a little card with some ideas for uses and a coupon for a free set of matching men's boxer briefs, socks, and no-show socks when you purchase one set at regular price on their site.

MaskerAide Bubble Bubble Pop! Charcoal Bubble Sheet Mask – Retail Value $5.30 ($7.00 CAD)

Thanks to subscription boxes, I have tried this mask before and I was happy to receive another one. I love the cute design on the front and a good sheet mask never goes to waste in my home! This one is especially bubbly and left my skin feeling bright and smooth afterward. Everything you could want in a bubble mask!

The following items are only in the Premium Box:

Let's Just Be Casual Dress by Annabelle, Size L - Listed Value $45 (*possibly* found here for $14.95)

I think this dress might be my favorite item in the box! It is just a super simple rayon/spandex blend in black, but the shape is so flowy and flattering because it doesn't cling at all like you would expect. I love the casual look of it, but with the subtle flare in the skirt and the longer hemline in the back, this will be easy to dress up with accessories if I want to. It is so incredibly comfortable and soft, plus it has POCKETS! Although the thin material means you can't pack them too full, but for some chapstick or a tissue to store in there, it's perfect. The listed value might be a bit inflated though if that is the same dress that I was able to link to.

Lodis RFID Slim Card Case in Fuchsia - Retail Value $35 (found here for $14.99)

This leather slim card case was a nice inclusion this month and the bright fuchsia is a fun choice of color. I don't have anything like it and I think this is one of those accessories that will really come in handy one day.  I like that it's slim so that I can throw it into a clutch or smaller bag to keep some organization in there without taking up too much room. It features 6 card slots on the back as well as one on the front and I appreciate that it also has the nice zippered pocket so I can keep a few coins in there. The quality seems nice and it's a softer leather, plus the RFID protection is a nice bonus!

Verdict: I really enjoyed everything in this month's My Fashion Crate! I think that this box is consistently getting better in both the quality and the curation of the box contents. I love that there is such a great mix of both fashionable and useful items, which makes it fun to receive each month. I also really appreciate the fact that they include brands with meaningful missions, such as this month's headband and the bracelet we received. It makes the items feel just a bit more special to me!

The total for the Premium box comes to $180.15 this month, which is an awesome value for a $54.90 ($49.95 + $4.95 shipping) box. As for the Essentials box, the value is $100.15 which is still great for a $39.95 ($35 + $4.95 shipping) box. When comparing the two subscriptions, for $14.95 extra for the Premium box we received Let's Be Casual Dress and the Slim Card Case valued at $80 (although with sale prices it was considerably less, yet still more than the extra cost for the Premium box).

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? If you order before the 15th you can still receive the November box, after that it will be the December box. From My Fashion Crate:

All packages ship on the 2nd week of the month. Your package takes 3~5 days to arrive after the notification email. Shipping takes a few days longer for Canada and International orders.

I love the black dress and it looks great! The brown top is not so great. It kinda looks like it was made from extra scraps of material sewn together. It’s also an odd shape/fit.

Sheree

I would go with a milk chocolate colored cami with the first top.

I think a cami matching one of the colors in the shirt should work. Perhaps more of a grey or brown/tan. I adore the LBD. With pockets! I think thin pockets are still better than those illusion pockets so many designers like to put on womenswear.

Yes, thin pockets are definitely better than that! 🙂

The first top is just tied too tight. Undo the bow and get it to lay right for your body and then loosely tie the bow back up. You’ll likely still need a cami underneath, but that should help the pulling

Thanks, Marie! I definitely need to play around with it some more! 🙂

Shirt does seem awfully short! But that dress is absolutely darling on you.

That wrap top is just really poorly made. It looks like something that you would see on one of those DressLily sites that comes from China and is nothing like the advertised photo. The fit and length of the one you received is really different from what is in the modeled photo.

It honestly doesn’t feel super cheap to me, but it definitely doesn’t quite look the same as it does on the model! Lol
