Our Review

No7 Restore & Renew Serum, .16 fl oz - Estimated Value $5.44 (Buy a 1oz tube for $33.99, found here for $30.59)

This serum has quite a perfume-y scent to it; it is very fresh smelling, but I feel it might irritate my skin. I used this serum on the back of my hand, and it felt very smooth and softening. It is supposed to firm and prevent/improve facial and neck wrinkles with results in as little as one week.

No7 Airbrush Away Primer, .33 fl oz - Estimated Value $6.60 (Buy 1oz tube for $19.99)

This primer has the same fragrance as the No7 serum in this box. It had an immediate smoothing effect, and I could tell it had blurred the little lines on the back of my hand very well.

Soap & Glory Face Soap & Clarity Foaming Face Wash, 1.69 fl oz - Estimated Value $1.72 (Buy 11.8oz for $11.99)

Although this is called a “foaming” face wash, it does not contain any soap! I think the no soap factor is key to not having that tight, stripped feeling after washing your face. The beads in this wash barely made an appearance on the skin; however, the fragrance lingered for quite a bit.

Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Scrub, 1.69 fl oz - Estimated Value $2.53 (Buy a 10oz tub for $14.99)

I’ve been a fan of Soap & Glory bath products for a while, so I was excited to see this scrub in this box. It does a great job of sloughing away dead cells, revealing moisturized, baby soft skin! With scrubs, it is hard to find one that is scrubby enough that doesn’t leave an oily residue, and I am happy to say that this meets that criteria, plus it has that famous Soap & Glory fragrance everyone loves.

Sleek MakeUP Eyeshadow When the Sun Goes Down Palette, 9g FULL SIZE! - Retail Value $11.99

This petite palette would be the perfect traveling companion. It contains two satin-matte colors, and the rest are lovely shimmers that would work for either a neutral every day or a bold night on the town look. I’ve been tempted to try Sleek products, and I feel this was the perfect introduction to the brand. Swatches below!

Here are swatches of the Sleek shadows as they lay in the palette. I am living for the red-copper color at the bottom right!

Verdict: This box has a total value of $28.28. That’s great for a $9.99 box, including free shipping. Even though I wasn’t a fan of the No7 items, I was happy to be reacquainted with Soap and Glory and introduced to Sleek Beauty. These boxes are always great to try an array of items for a cheap price, and Target Beauty Box never fails to pack in a few travel bag essentials.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Unfortunately, this box is temporarily out of stock. However, there are several other Holiday Target Beauty boxes available here!

Value Breakdown: At $9.99 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • No7 Restore & Renew Serum: $1.92
  • No7 Airbrush Away Primer: $2.33
  • Soap & Glory Face Soap & Clarity Foaming Face Wash: $0.61
  • Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Scrub: $0.89
  • Sleek MakeUP Eyeshadow When the Sun Goes Down Palette: $4.24

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

Great box for trying out the products and for traveling.
I wish they included coupons to use for full sizes, though.

i love no 7 serums and started to get amazing compliments on my skin after i started to use it. i have used Clarins, estee lauder, MURAD, la mer, cliniques and many others. i prefer LA mer but can’t afford it…No 7 is my second choice. I DO NOT use the airbrush version however,

I wish the palette was different from last year’s – same brand and size is fine, but wish a different colorway. The rest of the items are all ones that I will use – and use up – but I still have palette from last year.

The entire box was practically a repeat of the previous Boots box – I don’t understand what the point was of doing it this way?.. Maybe I am missing something.

Yes, if they at least did a, say, purple-tone palette this time around, that would have been much better (and made more sense).

But they carry so many great brands, I don’t know why it has to be the same brand twice.

Almost all of these items were provided previously in a target beauty box with the exception of the soap and glory scrub if I recall correctly . I know for sure that I got the number seven items and the sleek pallet before from target

I have the scrub from a previous box as well, and the face wash. Guess they had a lot of product left. Lol.

At the end of the review you said you were not a big fan of the No7 items, but other than saying you feel like one product “might” irritate the skin on your hand and has a fresh smell, you didn’t say much. What exactly did you not like? Does it have actives you found irritating? We’re you disappointed by the efficacy, texture, or sample size itself? It’s really helpful for readers to understand exactly what you disliked about the product, as well as what you liked.

Hi JennR,

I should have elaborated more on that–my skin reacts to any perfume in skincare that stays on the skin (with face wash most of the fragrance goes down the drain, so my skin usually doesn’t mind much with that, unless it is very potent). I end up with redness and sometimes bumps, so I try to avoid fragrance as much as possible. I didn’t try the product on my face because of my sensitive skin, so I just tried it on the back of my hand to get an idea of the smell, texture, etc. That’s why the serum just wasn’t for me. 🙂

Thanks for reading!

Oh, ok. That makes a lot more sense as to why you couldn’t say much about the product. I’ve been curious about that line of skincare from Boots, but I don’t see a whole lot of that UK brand in boxes other than from Target. I was wondering how the quality compared to some of the department store brands that we see more frequently in sub boxes. I’m definitely not interested in the palette, so perhaps it’s best for me to hold off until there is a box that has a wider range of the No 7 products included. At any rate, it was nice to see this box up for review on MSA…reading reviews here often sway my decision over whether the box if worth purchasing. Thanks!

I thought your review was great…just saying…

I didn’t say her review was bad. I was just looking to get a little more information before deciding whether to buy the box…that’s why I read the reviews…to get opinions on the quality of items included.

Ashley

The palette isn’t full size 🙁 I thought it was when I ordered it, but full size is .31 oz and the palette in the set is only .08 oz

JuJu

The description didn’t say that it would be a full-size palette, plus most here are familiar with the previous version of the box.

Love this box!!! Was a little disappointed of the size of the eyeshadow palette. Beautiful colors, great for traveling but it is super tiny lol. Other then that, great box!!!!!!!

I missed out on this box last year, so when It came up on radar …I bought two of them plus that Dermstore box. Woot!

I thought it was a great deal for $10. It was the only Target holiday box I wanted, and they shipped it UPS! Awesome. I like all five items and will use them up completely, so for me it was a win. The palette is small but like Abby said, perfect for travel. I’ll be doing a lot of business travel in 2019, and this small palette with 12 color options is versatile and will be so much easier to take than the full-size Revealed palette I used to pack. My only complaint is the catch to open the palette. I don’t have nails and have to stick a flat firm item in it to open the palette; I can’t imagine what women with nail polish do. Design misstep there.

Have you used Sleek shadows before? They don’t last at all, on me. Huge waste of money.

I agree, I threw mine away. Also the no 7 serum has so much silicone, it balled up on my face after moisturizer.

Mary

I’m glad to hear it’s not just me regarding that palette! I always have to use my tweezers to open it!
