VineOh! “Oh! Ho! Ho!” Winter Box Review
Everything in this box is branded beautifully and I appreciate how each item has a card giving you more information on the product.
The “Oh!” envelope contains all the cards! The first card is a summary card that displays all of the items as well as their retail price. The theme this time is “Oh! Ho! Ho!” Festive and cute!
Now onto the items – starting with the wines!
The wines included in the box are custom made for Vine Oh! and if you like a bottle and want more, you can buy them at the Vine Oh! shop.
You have the option of selecting your wine preference – Reds, Whites, Both, and Sweet. I selected the “Both” Option and received a bottle of chardonnay and a California red blend.
2016 New Crush California Red Blend– Retail Value $26.00 (found here for $17.00)
New Crush Red Blend is a medium body wine with bold, fruit-forward flavors of black cherry, boysenberry jam layered in with a mild oakiness and a hint of cedar. An infatuating blend of luscious red flavors with a slight touch of sweetness.
This wine was jammy! The berries are absolutely the most noticeable scent and flavor. The cedar also came through strongly. This was a great wine paired with steak. I am not a huge red fan (yet!!) but I am trying to embrace them more. This was an excellent experimental wine for a novice like me.
2014 Mad Love Arroyo Seco Chardonnay – Retail Value $25.00 (Found here for $15.00)
Mad Love Chardonnay is our rare find that we want to share with you. With aromas of lime zest, floral and notes of pear and grapefruit, this bright fruitful chardonnay has a soft mouth feel and a creamy finish making it our Mad Love.
I do enjoy a chardonnay and this is a lovely bottle! It absolutely had floral overtones but also a woodsy finish. I chilled it and it paired really well with a salmon dinner I prepared mid-week.
Now on to the lifestyle items!
Whoosh Beauty The Fold Out Face Palette - Retail Value $45.00
Dang! This palette has just about everything. I was really impressed with this set because every product is cruelty, paraben, and fragrance-free. The palette also folds up so thin that you can easily toss it in your purse and have your entire face ready for a touch-up. The eyeshadow colors are really beautiful for either a simple look or a more dramatic smoky eye. I thought the blushes were especially pretty and they both had shimmer. My only complaint is that I found the concealers too yellow/dark for my skin, even though this was the "1. light" shade palette. I am abnormally pale though, like specialty foundation pale. Ironically though, the contour powder worked really well for me, which is a first!
Here are some swatches:
Here are the contour shades. They were subdued but will work well with my skin as long as I don't use too much.
Such pretty eyeshadows! The brown and black also worked well wet.
The only bummers for me were the concealers. A little too yellow/dark.
In my world blush>mascara so I am super pleased with these shimmery options. The top color is a shimmer/highlighter which doubles for me as a super low key eye shadow.
These "finishing" powders will also work well for highlighting and contouring for me.
Therapy Threads Aromatherapy Bracelet – Listed Value $32.00
Ooooh! This bracelet is so pretty! It is a combination of rosewood, blue druzy, and a gold pave feature bead. I generally dislike anything with cz stones but these look very high quality and have a ton of sparkle. The blue druzy beads are metallic and really pop next to the rosewood. You put a few drops of your favorite essential oil on those wooden beads and take your favorite oils on the go! The oil sent with this bracelet is an uplifting sweet orange which is an oil I always use more of in the winter months because it reminds me of warm sunny days when I need it the most.
Hallmark Ceramic Latte Mug, Fashionably Latte – Retail Value $9.99
This mug is going to make an incredible gift for a close friend who is a latte-aholic! This 16oz mug is extra tall and very heavy in a high-quality type of way. I know she will absolutely adore the sassy phrase on it and I think the glossy black mug with the on-trend script is totally her style. I also appreciate the pretty blush interior.
Pickens Sweet Treats Peppermint Bark, 4oz - Buy 8oz here for $10.00
This was pretty straightforward bark, though it didn't have nearly as much peppermint flavor as I would have liked. The chocolate was smooth and rich, and it was enough to share with my husband.
Pickins Sweet Treats Chocolate Fudge, 4oz - Buy 8oz for $10.00
This is some darn good fudge. It was rich, smooth, and the chocolate flavor was delicious. This was another treat I split with my husband because whenever I have something sweet in a box it is like he can smell it and if I don't get to it first it will be gone. He has already added this fudge to his Christmas wish list.
Afterspa Magic Makeup Remover Mini - Buy a full size for $11.94
I already have one of these magic makeup removers in a larger size in a different brand and I find that they work really well! They are a great choice for those nights where you don't feel like a deep cleansing face routine but you know you shouldn't sleep in your makeup because it is TERRIBLE for your skin. They truly do remove all the makeup without any sort of added cleaner needed. I like this small size because it will be very easy to travel with!
The Verdict: VineOh! was pretty close to a self-care love package this month. The wine was delicious and the treats were tasty and decadent. The makeup palette is perfect for trying out new looks and then they can be easily removed with the cute magic makeup remover. The aromatherapy bracelet is so unique, functional, and also pretty! Even though I don't plan on keeping the mug, it will make a beloved gift this Christmas.
This 59.99 box advertises a value of at least $120, and the total retail value is $137.99, not including the chocolate and makeup remover!
